The last movie that got a teaser that early was Man of Steel which was a little more than 11 months before the movie hit theaters. |

An opinion can't be incorrect -- a fact can. And there is no fact in Return of the Jedi being a better movie than Revenge of the Sith any more than there's fact in Revenge of the Sith being a better movie than Return of the Jedi. BUT, when you factor Ewoks into the equation, the resulting conclusion is that Revenge of the Sith is greater than Return of the Jedi.

Lots show a year in advance. Don't expect any major scenes but you might get some footage. But I imagine something will be released before the end of the year.

When they take up 1/3 of the film, yes, the ewoks are worse. Especially considering how Han Solo was diminished as a character while being put amongst them. It's actually everything involving Luke that saves the movie. Now that I think about it, maybe that was Lucas' intention -- Maybe he felt that he had to dumb-down everything besides Luke Skywalker, including fan-favorite Han Solo, in order to make people see Luke as this cool Jedi Knight. Yeah, Luke's story was really the "meat" of Return of the Jedi.
Without that the movie pretty much would've been a stinker. |

I never saw it that way. Sure, we don't see that much of him towards the end of the movie but what are we going to see? You have a 3 front battle going on and the other 2 fronts are much more interesting so naturally they are going to get the attention. Do we need to see Han shooting at the Walkers time after time after time? Yeah he is a little goofy at times but he is like that in the other films too and when you have a character like that trying to be a leader in a situation like that, he is going to seem a little weird. I never saw it as a problem. Sith though had some major issues.

I think everyone realizes that Han Solo got a bit more goofier as the trilogy went on, so I won't press that issue, but there are scenes in Return of the Jedi with Han that are just outright dumb, and I think it was a decision to seperate him from the Millennium Falcon and give it to Lando that added to diminishing Han as a character. The scene where C-3PO is hailed by the Ewoks and they're all sitting around listening to him tell a story in their native language, you can see Harrison Ford looking bored. I can only guess what his thoughts were about it all. He must have felt like he was a guest celebrity on the Muppet Show. The best parts, those regarding Luke, in Return of the Jedi are stronger than anything in Revenge of the Sith, but as a whole, I feel Revenge of the Sith is the better, more solid film. But out of respect for those great scenes from Jedi, I'm changing my avatar to reflect my appreciation. |

Maybe something similar to the teaser for Star Trek where it showed some of the construction of the Enterprise with some space exploration related audio clips.

Going back to that ROTS teaser, that was revealed back in November 2004 if I can recall, so that was six months before the film's release, which makes me think that we'll probably see a teaser attached to The Avengers 2, which would be about six months away from VII's release.

Does anyone ever wonder why C-3PO was a god to the Ewoks and not Chewbacca? While similar in appearance but much bigger, you'd think they'd want him as their god. |

I can't even describe the excitement everyone had for this movie after Empire Strikes Back. We all wanted to see Han in a showdown with Boba Fett to exact his revenge, and see Han help Luke take down the Empire side-by-side. Instead we saw a Han that gained 15 pounds while he was frozen, and only to bungle around and incessantly crack cheeky jokes through the rest of the movie. That was a bigger letdown than ewoks. |

I never heard anyone complain about Ewoks in 1983. It wasn't until ten years later and I was out of college that I heard a guy ***** his head off about Return of the Jedi, upset that Lucas made a family fantasy film instead of some sort of uber-serious violent death-fest. In 1983, the Ewoks were a huge surprise and they brought the house down...balancing the heart-in-your-throat drama on the Death Star with charm and comedy. They worked for me then and still do. Lucas' muddled plot, clunky pacing, and stilted dialog in Sith? Not so much.
