Vaders melted helmet, a chrome trooper (he looks B.A.) um is that a double decker Star Destroyer?

Aw that poor trooper being blown into the air. The Milenium Falcon

Um is that a Star Destroyers engine theyre flying into? Where's the rest of it?

Boy the TIE pilots havent gotten any smarter, why would he follow it into the ship?

That is why Ep III and V are the only SW films my 6 year old still haven't seen

I do plan on seeing all the OT if he seems ok with it around late Nov / early Dec before we head to the theater for Ep VII.

Hopefully they don't F this up and make Ep VII a hard PG-13.

My dad introduced me to Star Wars when I was around 7, and Empire Strikes Back is the first movie I ever saw in the theater with my parents (I was 8) that wasn't a kid- type movie.
I introduced my kids to Star Wars, and they can't wait for the new movie.

So my guess is that it'll be around for a looooong time.

Two questions.

Why is Carrie Fisher puckering her lips in every photo that I have seen in the last two weeks.

I know this is beyond early, but does anyone know when the soundtrack releases?

We've discussed this before. The complaints keep coming back.

If you study martial arts, it's not just about attacking and defending. There's art to it, many moves are to confuse your opponent. Some martial arts even moves like they were dancing, some very gracefully (google for "kung fu', "capoeira" or "silat" etc). In the case of the fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan above, one is the teacher while the other his disciple. They both have the same techniques so sometimes they mirrors each other. That is part of the "moves" in their sword fight art. That is not a move to strike the opponent.

It's a super Star Destroyer engine. Buried upside down in the sand.

Seeing as it's still a major thing almost 40 years after the first Star Wars film, there's no reason to at all think it won't be a big thing 40 years from now as well.

Flying into the Star Destroyer is cool and all, but unless you're 100% sure there's an opening all the way through large enough for your ship, it's essentially suicide.

The thought occurred to me. Of course, those ships have been there for decades so it's possible whoever's flying the Falcon knows what he or she is doing...

Okay, how about the fact that much of the lightsaber choreography in the prequels is based around bouncing blades off each other and aiming nowhere near your opponent?

As opposed to the pathetic Obi-Vader fight in Star Wars or Luke defeating Vader basically swinging it like an angry Italian mobster with a baseball bat in Jedi?

Wish I could see ridiculous videos like that shredding the duels of the original trilogy (Empire was the best of them, but still not perfect). But we have double standards to uphold!

Funny, I don't recall anybody consistently missing their opponent entirely by at least two feet in either of those sequences.

Was that a serious post or just blind rage?

Vader basically just threatened to kill his sister, I think Luke going batshit crazy is a bit more realistic than people flying around a lava pit jumping from one point to anther while sword fighting.

The (Totally) Phantom Menace - YouTube
I can't believe you post that here, that video is just stupid and embarrassing. Any fights in movies when you slow down and over-analyze will have similar issues. That is why a stunt double in a movie doesn't have to be perfectly look-alike. Anybody purposely watch our movies in slow motion, rewind and repeat? Really?

No, he spoke of converting her to the Dark Side. Vader still wanted to overthrow Palpatine at that point, and Leia would've been the best option after Luke. Part of it was also a deception tactic, as you see Vader nodding when Luke cuts his bionic hand off in fury. Anakin's true self didn't resurface until the Emperor revealed he'd rather kill Luke outright, than allow him to remain a threat.

The point is that examining the sequence shows that it's choreographed with no intention of depicting the characters actually trying to hit each other. All it's concerned with is looking flashy.
