Yes, there are IMAX 2D showings as well.

Not sure how widespread they are, or if any locations are splitting between 2D/3D showtimes, but IMAXes in Sydney, Indianapolis, and the IMAX dome locations have said they will only be playing the 2D version (Sydney said they may add the 3D version later in the run).

FYI, I went with an old-fashioned normal 2D screening of the movie, which is pretty much how I'd like to watch a new Star Wars film for the first time.

I'm sure I'll see it again at least a couple of times at the theater so I'll make a point to see it in fancy 3D IMAX at least once.

Kind of a bummer that the marathon concludes with a 3D showing the new film. Ugh. I hate 3D.

Well everyone on Facebook is wondering why Luke isn't on the poster. Since he's probably actually on there in mask, it only verifies some of the rumors we've heard. And I really hated most of them. :/

Well that was a lot of unnecessary panic on my behalf, was just able to buy tickets for the 3D 10:20pm showing on 12/17 with no trouble. I thought these weren't going up until AFTER the trailer?

Oh well, least now I don't have to keep watching this game!

Movie tickets.com seems to be working better. Weirdly I noticed most of the theaters I thought would play Star Wars that weren't showing up on Fandango were here, while some of the Fandango locations aren't here, maybe they split up some locations in an attempt to minimise web traffic.

You mean Adam Driver would be involved in all this just to fool everyone into thinking Kylo Ren is a new character and not Luke? I can't see that. It's clearly not Mark playing the character in the footage we've seen either.

It could just be that Luke is barely even in the movie-- a lot of the story seems geared towards finding out where he's gotten to. Maybe he doesn't even show up in the film until towards the very end. Who knows?
