Maybe not. My body has compressed 2.9% in 40 years. Extrapolate that out to 900 years and it's 64%. That means you could start out at 7' tall and 900 years later be only 4'6", and that would assume that Yoda's race compressed in height at the same rate as humans, but maybe they compress/shrink even faster.

Since this is "The Force Awakens" I'm convinced Luke is so masterful of the force he has the troops thinking he's Kylo. He is actually training Rey and Finn without them realizing it.

Lol, no. No offence anyway mate, you don't like the idea, that's fine, it'll probably never happen anyway.

If Luke changed his face, age, and grew 7 inches, perhaps.

While I don't believe the "Luke is Kylo" theory, I'm still gonna throw a little fuel on the fire: what if Adam Driver is just providing mo-cap, and the helmetless shots are the unfinished FX?

My opinion is, and has been for some time, that Kylo and Rey are twins, Han and Leia's kids. But that is not a spoiler, just my personal opinion. If Rey is not related to Luke or Leia it is quite weird (or perhaps purposefully misleading) casting as I think she looks very like Leia/Padme. All just IMHO. I love that we still don't know for sure yet!

My only gripe with that would be it defeating the purpose behind wiping the slate clean, with shelving the pre-Disney EU. In your scenario, Kylo and Rey would essentially be Jacen and Jaina...so why try to distance yourself from previous continuity, and then pull something like this? It doesn't make sense for Disney or Lucasfilm, from a business standpoint.

but why would they want to pick and choose what characters/aspects they keep from the EU??

then they get into the whole "they should bring in this character" or "they brought that one in, why not this one??"

why not just create a new story fresh and take it from there??

Just because they're twins (IF they're twins, though I like the idea) doesn't mean they're the same characters from the EU in all but name. The themes of twins, mirroring, symbiosis etc run like a main artery throughout Star Wars so why does putting such references in the new movie suddenly mean they're mining the EU?

Two things:

1) Just because they've freed themselves from the burden of the previous EU by being clear about it not being canon (the stuff now designated 'Legends'), it doesn't mean they can't pick and choose certain things to bring back from it if and when they want to. They're just not bound by it, and have signalled no-one should expect it.

2) What Geoff D said basically. They don't have to be the same twins and the same story. If they're going to rule out every general concept that appeared in the EU in any way that's exactly the kind of constraints they were presumably trying to avoid by clarifying what isn't canon in the first place. I think Lucas' treatments were possibly about twins too, and yet they chose a different direction for the story, so this could well be a third take on the idea of the 'same' twins...

The Blue Pig has it absolutely right: just because the EU itself was swept away doesn't mean that every one of those concepts is now off limits! If anything that's partly why they did it, so that those concepts and ideas could (possibly) be explored within the new movies WITHOUT the baggage of the EU itself weighing upon it.

LOL, even in the trailer Kylo Ren is very much Adam Driver.

That was my thought. Why I threw the theory out there.

It just seems too "on the nose", for Han & Leia to have twins in the new film. The least they could do is mix it up, and have them be Luke's kids. I'd love to see them reference Mara Jade in the new trilogy somehow, since she was probably the most popular EU character after Grand Admiral Thrawn.

They may yet not be, so it's nothing to be bothered about at this stage. And they could still be mirrors of each other if Rey is the offspring of one Skywalker twin and Kylo the offspring of the other.
