I agree, I think Finn is the one who either gets badly injured or possibly killed off here. They seem to make friends early on and have a reasonably strong bond.

Still think Kylo is Han and Leia's son...

Coincidently, in the novel in question it was hinted that Mara Jade was having a relationship with lando Calrissian, which was promptly retconned a few books later with some silly excuse ("me responding to a holocall wearing lando's shirt was a decoy because REASONS!" or something like that).
If I'm remembering correctly, Callista was brought into the novels to be the main love interest for Luke. But by that point, Mara Jade had already taken off and become a fan favorite. So the editors quickly had her written out and had Zahn move forward with Luke and Mara. Then 10-15 years later, they revealed that Callista had been killed as a means of tying up her story.

That's too bad. It was on the 5th. And discussed on the 4th. So

Sincerely I didn't find her particularly interesting while reading Zahn's trilogy and the fact that she was supposed to have been posing as one of the dancers at Jabba's felt a bit tacked in, like a bad fan fiction, I liked her in Mysteries of The Sith, but sincerely that's all I can say about her, Callista would have been interesting as she was a full fledged Jedi Knight from the old republic and had potential in that sense but it seems Zahn's trilogy was liked enough that Mara shined by reflecting its light.

[Show spoiler]
I don't see the Jake Lloyd resemblance, but RedLetterMedia's recent video put up a side-by-side with Natalie Portman and Daisy Ridley and there was quite the resemblance.

But that aside, I assumed Rey would be a Skywalker just because it's a main Star Wars episode, and it would be weird to have one not centered around a Skywalker. Grandfather (Anakin) - father or mother (Luke/Leia) - granddaughter (Rey). People have been pointing out that it seems as though Abrams is keeping to Lucas' "rhyming" philosophy, so it only makes sense to have Rey be a Skywalker.

I hope she's Luke's kid, purely because he was the main hero in the OT which was primarily 'about' Luke. I think all the "Finn with a lightsaber" stuff we've been seeing, from posters to trailers to banners, is misdirection and Rey is the Force sensitive. (Or they both could be).

I'm not at all sure about this, but if I was gonna make one bold guess, how about its Rey who dies? We've heard a new female lead is being looked for Ep8, and if Rey dies, having her cry over an injuried friend in the trailer would be a great misdirect.

That's pretty close to what Making Star Wars has theorized given everything they've pulled together. It'll be interesting to see how much misinformation J.J. spread just to mess with people.

Default Supercut of all the trailers so far

starwars episode 7 trailer extended reedit international

Ok, this is kind of a mess, but it sure is fun. Don't watch this, spoiler-phobics, it contains actual parts of the movie:

Darth Revan also featured in Clone Wars, but was deleted at the last moment. He was going to be in the "Ghosts of Mortis" episode and is still shown in the blu ray special features about the episode. Darth Bane was also scheduled for his first appearance in this episode as well, but was moved to the last episode to become part of Yoda's final challenge.

Dash Rendar's ship is still featured leaving Mos Eisley in Episode IV. Until Disney say otherwise he is still canon as well.

I have a feeling that lots of the deleted EU stuff will eventually make an appearance in some fashion in the new canon, just in new and hopefully exciting ways!

I'd say all that means is that the ship itself is part of canon seeing as it's actually appeared in the movies.

It only means that the corellian transport model YT-2400 is canon, not necessarily Dash Rendar as well.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned AT ALL, i'm going to open up on it.

Please understand this is speculation I have and any explanation would be great.

Kylo Ren.. he is after the blue lightsaber which was once Anakins. But he seems to fail, as Finn gets it instead. (From the trailers).

So from what I remember.. in ROTJ, Vader lost his hand and Saber the same way Luke did in TESB with Vaders old blue saber.

So, my question is.. why isn't Kylo searching instead for the Red Saber that Vader lost in ROTJ? They are both Vader's Sabers.

Now for the really interesting bit; Even though both Sabers are both Vader's, why does Kylo want the version that was from when Vader was a Jedi? Why would he not search instead for the Red dark side version instead? Since he is a bad guy?

This leads me to speculate that he is not really a bad guy, but a misunderstood child of someone important.

And this leads me to believe.. that that Red Saber is still out there somewhere to be found.. perhaps to be explained in episode VIII or IX?

The red saber was on the Death Star when it blew up, I'm not sure there'd be anything left of it. Hell, how they found the blue one is enough of a mystery as is.

Maybe Luke picked up Vader's lightsaber after he tossed his green one? We might see Luke with Vader's red lightsaber in the new movie ... I can't remember if it went down the ventilation shaft.

What if this is a scene that mirrors the 'I am your father' scene. Rey is being told some seriously terrible news as to her relationship to Kylo.
'I am your brother'. 'I am your cousin'.
