It makes sense, since his show is on the Disney owned abc, but I'll pass. Jimmy Kimmel is an ignorant A-hole, he's rude and unfunny. I won't watch anything he does, especially since I have a hard time believing his episode won't be about "those fat virgin nerds being excited for their dumb nerd movie".

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of Kimmel either. My favorite late night lineup is Colbert/Corden on CBS. In fact, Colbert was one of the first ever Star Wars fans. When he was a kid, he won an advance screening of the original film and was hyping it up to his friends before anyone had ever seen it.

JJ Abrams confirms Force Awakes Final Cut is completed

Quote:
‘The Force Awakens’ hits theaters in less than a month.

With less than month before the year’s most anticipated film hits theaters, the director says he’s finally done tinkering.

Director J.J. Abrams revealed over the weekend that he wrapped up work on the final cut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens early Saturday morning. Later that day, Abrams — who created television shows like Alias and Lost and also directed the recent Star Trek reboots — sat down with CBS CBS -0.10% talk show host Stephen Colbert to discuss the much-hyped film in front of an audience at an event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, according to The Star-Ledger.

That's amazing… it took 34 years for Lucas to be "done tinkering", so I'd say Abrams is ahead of the game.

Yes, he does. He works in the industry, and gets a preview screening. No, he can't tell you how awesome it is, or anything else about the film. He DOES get to see it though. Jealous?

Which...is odd. I'm "in the industry" as well and talked to someone in Disney who said that they, flat out, will not be doing any promo or critic screenings at all for the movie. This would be something totally different.

I might have his details wrong. After all, it's him, not me.

Yeah, I'm not really doubting him, at this point. What reason would someone have to say they're seeing a movie that they can't talk about at all?

I'm just surprised that any screenings are being done more than 2 weeks before the movie opens...unless it's some sort of Disney cast/crew. But, even that, they're risking a lot. Every time a screening happens, the chances of details (or the entire plot) of the movie leaking is greater and greater. I don't care what NDA's people sign - I wouldn't trust anyone. Keep that thing under lock and key until the last minute they can.

Neither of which apply to my case.

Then I misunderstood this, I guess:
