Default Summer films set in the Mediterranean (... -1995)

Hello.
I'm searching for summer films set in the Mediterranean, up to 1995.
Any suggestions?
(not interested in horror/thriller very much. Mostly in dramas/comedy/adventure like the ones below)

Some that I could think of (I haven't seen yet those in red)

To Catch a Thief
Bonjour Tristesse
The Big Blue
Le Mepris
Pierrot Le Fou
La Piscine
La Collectionneuse
Fedora

Il Sorpasso
Summertime
Plein Soleil
And God Created Woman
Mediterraneo
Il Postino
Journey to Italy
Le gendarme de Saint-Tropez
Come September
Avanti
Scampolo (unfortunately can't find it anywhere with English subtitles)
Vacanze A Ischia (1957) (same here, no subtitles)
La grande strada azzurra (Wide Blue Road)

Maybe some Criterion fans could help?

Purple Noon [edit: never mind - on your list already] comes to mind. Which of course brings The Talented Mr Ripley to mind but that doesn't make the 1995 cut.

They're both really good though and both are gorgeous.

There must be tons of James Bond films too.

Do they they have to be on Blu-ray only? There are so many beautiful films with Mediterranean themes on DVD. Respiro is one of my favorite, with beautiful Valeria Golino (Rain Man).

Girl on the Bridge is also a very beautiful film, but it is still not available on Blu-ray.

How about some Greek films?

Thank you pro-bassoοnist.
No, they don't have to be in Blu-ray.

Among the Greek films I've seen Zorba.
I would like to see those Angelopoulos ones, but I'm saving them for winter, because I don't think they're summer-y.

I'll check the other ones too..
(though only 3-4 of them are pre-1995 like I said in my initial post)

You didn't say they had to be good movies, did you?

Summer Lovers
L'année des méduses
C'est La Vie (Kurys, 1990) - I think this is the Med - never mind Atlantic coast

And I have this in my to-watch list too..

Also I think 1900 fits my criteria, right?

Mediterranee. It was a big influence on Godard's Le Mepris, by the way.

I looked over her filmography, and couldn't ID it, possibly a segment from YT&T, or just as possibly, an adolescent dream.

Yes I do! It's definitely worth watching (it's on the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die list too).

well, from all those i think the most possible contender is Boy on a Dolphin.

Phaedra is a poor sponge diver on the lovely Greek isle of Hydra. While diving, she discovers an ancient brass and gold statue of a boy riding a dolphin, which is said to have the magical power to grant wishes. Her shiftless boyfriend wants to sell it to an unscrupulous art collector, but Phaedra wants to give it to anthropologist Jim Calder, who would return it to the Greek government.

Just wanted to bump this thread in case anyone has more suggestions from releases of this past year.
Remember, I'm interested only in old films.. Up to 1995 the most..

There's one in particular that's oozing Mediterranee from every frame

Other I thought of:

L'annee des Meduses (Year of the Jellyfish / 1984) - Drama

You are certainly correct.
"Boy on a Dolphin," Sophia Loren's first American-film, was shot on location in the Greek Isles, has great Cinemascope photography and a terrific score---- along with fine performances by Alan Ladd and the always-entertaining Clifton Webb.

And do we EVER need a blu-ray wide-screen release of this film. Hey, Twilight Time....complete with isolated score, huh???
