So, one *big Whig* says………..
“Penton, don’t tell them anything about the exact date, give K.T. and Barry the honors.”
So, I say,
“I won’t give them any exact date and not even any hints except to say that it will be an “expedited” decision/announcement.”

So, this rather shrewd attorney in the office (who thinks he is more sly than I) squints at me and says………….
“And that includes no hints to your coyotes.”

I say………..
“What the hell are you talking about, they don’t speak English anyway?”

Shrewd attorney says………..
“Knowing you Penton, there is somebody on that blu-ray.com forum with the screen name of coyote1 or coyote2 and you will hint it to them and then, afterwards tell us some nonsense like you didn’t leak anything regarding a date to *humans*.

I say……….
“Well, I don’t know if anyone on the forum has those screen names but regardless,
I won’t tell anybody or even hint to anybody verbally an exact date for the WB announcement.”

Shrewd attorney, squints back as he is thinking but, remains silent.

So what could I do?
I gave you guys a countdown, or in this case, a count-up to the WB announcement – establishing the day with my 1,000th post.

Flash forward to present day.
Shrewd attorney got out-foxed by Penton.
Would it be possible that you are saving say,...your 1010th post for something important?

I take the name from a brand of motorcycle (which I raced) which was once distributed back in the day by the toughest man I ever knew, bar none (that includes some Seals).

With a Penton and the proper resolve – one could win one of these medals (in gold) and display it in one’s home theater to use as a conversational piece among friends while waiting for thee ole display to warm up.

im expecting that post #2000 will be something like Sony is dropping the DVD format.

By the way, i think it would be pretty sweet of many blu-ray supporting studios to bluff toshiba into folding by saying unless they fold they will not support DVD anymore, which would absolutley kill Toshiba.

Never a worry.

The count-up was calculated and intentionally planned in progression since Sept.

I just wanted to say to our Insiders that I CAN FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!!!

I haven't been this excited about home theater since the early days of DVD. I remember running out to my mailbox every week anxiously awaiting my weekly shipment of DVDs. Now, it's Blu Rays!!!

WB absolutely has restored the fun now that the sillyness is over. And with the rumors of titles like Indy Jones and such coming later this year...well, it's going to be a GREAT YEAR for Blu-Ray. The studios will have a unified message to everyone!!!

It is my opinion that when Mr. Parsons' tenure as spokesman of the BDA is over, Ron Sanders should be given the opportunity. Ron just seems like he "gets it".

Here's a little tidbit:

Netflix never showed(and still hasnt) RH3 on either HD format.Newline

Netflix is still not showing Zodiac (paramount) as an HDDVD.

I wonder if Netflix gets a heads up which one not to list/buy into due to looming changes.

Penton-Man, MaxPower1987, TalkStr8t, paidgeek, kjack and all the others on this board... Congratulations and thanks for the constant hard work to ensure the best format will succeed.

I always said I would believe it when I see it - as in my heart of hearts I've always felt WB were leaning/would go to HD DVD - well now I've seen it and I was wrong. And it feels good.

A big thank you to WB for stepping up and doing the right thing for the industry, their customers and themselves. Kudos to WB and the people involved in that decision.

The overall professionalism, accuracy and *transparency* of the insiders on this board *does* speak to whom I wish to do business with. The lack of all those issues on the other side was a big red flag demonstrating who not to *trust* as sources of information or direction.

Enjoy the fruits of your labour!

I recently conversed with Bill Hunt……or as I like to call him, Wild Bill.
I would say to keep a close eye on Digital Bits, if he hasn't posted something there already.

Later.

I see no reason for them not to be allowed to join the BDA or gain a licence.
Would they have to join the BDA or simply get a license to Blu-ray technologies through MPEG LA like any other company can do without being discriminated against?
