Well, they could carry Para and Uni on HDDVD and then Fox/Sony/Disney/WB/Para on BD. Large section vs very small.

Question is, would they want to continue to eat up space with players and discs.

I see the players dropping off, but dunno about the software, they could give it a small area.

I gave you guys a countdown, or in this case, a count-up to the WB announcement – establishing the day with my 1,000th post.

Flash forward to present day.
Shrewd attorney got out-foxed by Penton.
Shrewd attorney probably waiting for you around some corner as I type, no?

While PCM/TrueHD tracks are welcome for those who can access them, would it not be possible to always have a back-up DTS-HD/MA track so those of us stuck with optical can access the core 1.5mbps track, which IMO is a notable step up from regular DD 5.1.

Along with Fox, we now have Lionsgate and New Line titles with DTS-HD/MA, it would be nice if Warner and Sony followed suit.

He also started his rumors here and wicky shut him down-

This is from November-
While BB may be a BD fan i cannot recall him ever dishing HD-DVD the way rdjam dished BD. I think there is a difference. I take all rumours as just that rumours.

To the insiders...

Assume Universal (and/or Paramount) announce tomorrow that they will release on blu. Realistically, how long would it take before we see product from them? This is more related to Universal. Since Paramount may have some blu discs (ie-Blades of Glory) in a warehouse somewhere.

I assume you are being sarcastic. Does anyone really think Fox was considering changing sides? Fox was so paranoid about DRM that they dropped off of the BD release schedule for a half a year after the basic layer of encryption was cracked. They did not come back until BD+ was implemented.

Even several insiders alluded to the facts being twisted by the HD DVD group to make it look like the BDA played dirty. Everyone knows money was changing hands from both factions.

What I find funny over on AVS some people are trying to portray how poor little HD DVD was attacked by Sony and BDA. Hello? Toshiba is huge company and MSFT was equally powerful. Not saying that Warner definitely did not get incentives but as Warner said in their press release, they chose BD because it has the best chance to win the war quickly and end confusion so HD disk media does not miss its window.

There is also a rumor over at HDD (started by Spartan Johnson) that weinstien is in the bag for blu. They are just trying to squeeze some money out of the deal so that they will announce and start releasing movies on blu exclusively.

Can any insiders confirm/deny the truth of this rumor?
