No point in anyone being angry about anything.

I think thats a great way to look at it.

We all should have a good sense of what is going on right now, further arguing with the fanatics and/or badmouthing certain executives will not help the situation therefore we should not even waste our time with it.

Yeah, I used a strong word, and when I got in my car I was thinking the same thing. Nothing to be 'angry' about.

I do have to say though that I it was seriously annoying to not be able to discuss anything Blu on most forums, except here, without people trollig and derailing any blu conversations. The usual suspects claimed to be "neutral", but we knew otherwise. This was confirmed when they went over to HDD and started spewing their nonsense.

MANY of us are here for the very reason that we gave up arguing with the fanatics. I gave that up a while ago.

And if people paid attention to statements (official), developments (Amir and Nickerson), and Insider comments (you know who) starting last September, none of what is going on right now should be a "huge" surprise...other than maybe some of it is happening faster than we anticipated...

Question My First Question for Insiders (Be Gentle...)

Penton-Man, Paidgeek, Amir...

(Sorry, forgot that last one is retired... My bad.)

Considering the talk about the BDA extending an "olive branch" to Red adopters -

1) How likely is it that you'se guys see something like that actually occurring... (Possible/Probable/Phht, yeah right)

2) Any tips on what that MIGHT entail...

3) Might that be THE REASON that other folks are withholding announcements, that is - until DISC SWAPS are hammered out and AGREEMENTS ARE REACHED (?)

It would be a BOLD move if these THINGS ARE ON THE WAY - wouldn't you AGREE?

Thanks, The Doc.

(Ahh... It was everything I thought it would be and more...)

Do you think that Best Buy will do the right thing and at the very least, not recommend HD DVD players to unsuspecting customers at this point? I see that Best Buy is getting their own Blu-ray exclusive release of some Justine Timberlake concert. Hope they understand that they should at the very least be letting their salespeople know to not recommend HD DVD players as if that format has much chance of surviving with anything substantial.

Can any insiders comment on whether any of these retailers are ordering new HD DVD player stock, or whether any of them have started returning HD DVD players? Hopefully the Costco buyers are smart enough not to carry HD DVD players at this point, given their good return policy on DVD players.

If I may add my $.02 worth here ...

I have no issues whatsoever with Universal. I'd welcome them wholeheartedly into the Blu fold.

My issue is with Paramount. IF they had done initially what Warner is doing now with HD DVD, then I wouldn't be so upset with them. But, they just stopped any and everything Blu when that $150 mil check cleared the bank. I, like a few others, will probably get Transformers (to thank Michael Bay), but as far as other Paramount purchases go, they can just kiss my Blu a$$.

Vaughn is so FOS-- his crap is just not interesting anymore. Regardless if he sees the light now, how much of an idiot would you have to be now to not see it? All of us saw the writing on the wall long before this "insider" did. His "turning a new leaf" now is the equivalent of coming over to the Allies from a "neutral stance" after the Axis lost the Battle of the Bulge. It's obvious that this "war" is winding down to a blu-conclusion.

Given how many times his crap "insider" information-- other than getting Nielsen numbers a couple of days early-- has been refuted, I don't think it's worthwhile getting the insiders to comment on his BS. PM said it best regarding Fox, and I don't think that we have any reason to believe otherwise.

The only way to describe the Fox situation is:

IRRELEVANT

Only Fox knows what their true intentions were. At the end of day, they chose bluray and so did Warner Brothers. That is all that matters.

We will drive ourselves crazy if we decide to live in a "what if" world.

Just LET IT GO.

It doesnt matter.

Moving ON....

100% agreed. I'm really getting tired of him, despite the fact that he sees how things are going Blu, he still continues to go on and on about how Red "almost" won. The stuff about Fox seems to have been circulated mostly by him, which irks me. He seems like somewhat who really wants attention, I mean other than a couple of Red contacts and an HMM subscription, does he REALLY know any more than that? I don't think so.

I agree; this is an excellent attitude! Let's all make it 100% clear to Paramount that not a single Blu-ray fan is going to buy a single one of their titles if they try to switch back!

That will really help finish this format war! Especially if we boycott Universal, too! I mean, come on, they're the worst offenders of all! Let them beg and crawl and plead for our forgiveness, and then we can tell them to take a hike!

Personally, I'm boycotting Warner as well, for daring to be purple for so long! And I hear Fox listened to the HD DVD people, so I'm done with them, too!

And God help Disney if it turns out to be true that they participated in a demo of TL51 technology!

Oh, that's right, I forgot about HD DVD supporters in my last rant!

Well, I agree, we shouldn't just accept any HD DVD supporters into the Blu-ray camp! No way! We should only accept ones that not only admit that Blu won but will also state clearly that it is their firm belief that at no point did HD DVD even have the slightest chances of winning!

I mean, seriously, who do these people think they are? It just makes me sick that they pour a lot of time and money into HD DVD, then when their format loses they don't have the class to just shut their mouths and go Blu silently. No, instead they have the gall to go Blu but continue to yammer on about how HD DVD had a shot at some point if only a few things had turned out differently. How dare they!

Only Tru Blu people should be allowed to buy into Blu-ray.
