I was always grateful toward Universal for their support of the D-VHS D-Theater format. They had some of the best (U-571) releases on that format. I look forward to their support of the Blu format.

We need to take our BD caps off and consider why Universal chose HD-DVD. According to them it was a complete format and secondly it was cheaper. When you consider the PiP and Ethernet aspects of HD-DVD then KG is correct. It was a complete package for the vast majority of the general public. Though we as BD supporters cared more about HD Audio Universal were obviously of the opinion that the interactive menus and smart ideas of connecting to the web etc was a way of getting people excited about a new format which is to replace DVD.

I love BD and i chose it over HD-DVD because of audio. Pure and simple. But I am not ignorant enough to think that HD-DVD was a useless format as its clearly not. I just hope that BD can implement a genuinely good interactive element to BD and surpass HD-DVD in that respect without losing decent audio of course.

Lets welcome UNI with open arms into BD and hope that KG is as vocal about BD as he is about HD-DVD as he sure does sound convincing to the GP. PARA on the other hand will get little sympathy from me. But I will buy their movies but not until I have rewarded Disney, Sony and Fox and to a lesser extent WB with my money as these are the true supporters of BD.

Penton,

Still no clues about retail?

Even a tidbit?

All I want to know is simple.

Will there by any further developments regarding studio and/or retailer support this month? When can we expect to see anything?

Obviously, the sooner things happen, the better for everyone. HD DVD people are already beginning to see that Blu-ray is winning, and many have joined us here because of this. I think it is vital that everything has to happen fast now to get the general public to understand who the clear winner is, and also to get current HD DVD owners (not neutral) to make the choice to switch to Blu-ray.

Has anyone seen Rich Casey/RBFilms recently? With his hearty support for Blu-ray, can we expect they are now BD exclusive as well?

I thought that I would tip a toe in the water like Maxpower did to check out the temperature.
(I see they’ve got me listed as an “Insider” on page1 of their Insider’s Thread….again).< Somebody should take a screen shot of that.

They didn't even tell you this? They just put your name back on the list? I guess after the events of the last week or so, you've now "proven" yourself? That's...pathetic. They must be hard up for Insiders...

Seriously, I would asked to be removed and tell them your name will be added to the list ON YOUR TERMS, and when YOU say it should be added. But that's just me, I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do.

BTW, you still "afraid" of paidgeek regarding the "latina CZJ"? Seriously though, no rush. I know you got bigger fish to fry right now.

I'm not sure if this has been covered already (or if there's even anyone here who could provide insight), but in light of the recent WB announcement I was wondering if there has been any exclusivity chatter from the Discovery Channel (I don't know if they fall under anyone else's umbrella).

It looks like BD's success is getting too strong for them to continue to let the hd big mouths gang up on any of our Blu insiders.

I'm glad they are letting the blu insiders back in, I'm just amazed about how much abuse they let talk endure.

Demand respect from avs.
If those handful of usual suspects gang up and try to blabber all over you and try and belittle your statements as they did in the past...report them.

Maybe we can be rid of some of those hot air Filibustering internet con artists.

Yeah, they are gonna love that. Now theyll give you the Maxpower treatment by asking 1500 questions about fox, all the same but varying slightly.

Love Discovery!

Man, I missed so much of "Storm Chasers".

I would love to see that on Blu Ray.
Especially the Imax footage!

Even better , put all of his IMAX footage on as an hd extra...unedited!!!!
That would be so cool!!

Have you noticed how that question is being ignored by all the insiders with a 10 foot pole? I find that extremely interesting.

I'm pretty sure the Blu insiders left on their own accord due to all of the harassment they endured while posting there. I remember paidgeek getting fed up with all of Amir's bs and left.

Our Insider's have been extremely quite since CES started this week and have avoided a lot of questions. In fact I don't think there has been more than "small chit chat" all week by them.

I have been "arguing" with some of the typical HD DVD boys over at avs about Mr. Graffeos statement.

They think he stated business as usual and no change. HD DVD exclusive. I told them that the fact that he LEFT OFF the word exclusive was something that can not be ignored. The thread finally got locked.
