Yeah but we don't want HD-DVD ports. We want titles that will show off what Blu-ray can do.

Can we expect some new announcements for this quarter coming over the next few weeks, or is the slate pretty much filled?

I'm particulary curious about New Line Cinemas plans for BD releases - besides LOTR, they've got a couple of pretty interesting titles like Se7en, Blade, Dark City, A History Of Violence, The New World etc.

I think some ports are inevitable. There are titles like Casablanca, for example, that are already pressed, packaged, and waiting for a "marketing window". I don't want to wait any longer than I have to for classic titles like The Adventures of Robin Hood, Forbidden Planet, etc. that don't seem to sell enough even to release let alone redo their transfers.

For guaranteed sells like Batman Begins and The Matrix Trilogy, by all means "optimize" them Warner Bros. if you feel its financially viable, and it may even get WB double-dips from previous HD DVD buyers.

I plan on confining myself to posting on this forum pretty much exclusively…..when I’m not watching Blu-ray movies.
The above gesture was just to help out some old friends whose original manufacturer’s warranty was expiring this month.
You wrote in this post that one should maybe not use the name Bendover and list a number to a Jessica in the same post. Do you know that if you say Jessica, in Thai it means "Have sex?" or "Do you want to have sex?"

Well it's unfortunate that that's happened but oh well Something else to blame the DUD for.

So are you saying there are not many Thai girls named Jessica?

How much money can Toshiba keep dolling out? I mean the investors can't be to happy.

I always seem to miss ladyhawke when it was on HDnetMovies. But, Memoirs of Invisible Man should be really good quality with an high vc-1 bit rate and the same with Ladyhawke since Warner now has the power to do what is best for blu-ray.

I've occassionally seen comments suggesting that SONY media is solely interested in commercial story telling that sells to the game demographic. As a fan of experimental and political film I would like to thank SONY pictures for taking the risk of a project such as persepolis. I look forward to a purchase on BD on the day of release.

I see a conspicuous lack of "currently" in the above statement, unlike what a certain studio and PG representative said. I think we can all let out a collective sigh of relief.

Just kidding Penton-Man...nice to hear that you're sticking with us.

enjoy

Well, if I have a guest in my house and he promptly commences to piss all over the living room, I'm not going to be too keen to have him back anytime soon.

I like the way he asks "What's wrong with the name Ben Dover? "

As though it were really his name.

Insiders is there any indication of how well bluray standalone sells have picked up.

I hear a lot of talk, but I am curious to see some actual numbers on the Warner effect.

p.s. Can someone PLEASE stop the Hatriots eerr I mean Patriots.
