Well, you know that vultures always gather to circle over a dying critter.

Hope all the insiders had at least some relaxation/fun time for the holiday. Have fun at CES, wish I could join you. Regardless of what announcements come or not, I think this is the CES to be at if you only get to go once.

Chris

Penton,

I know you usually pick the thread of the day, but I really think you should give some serious thought into this one.

The guy Carl314, who I created this thread for, needs some serious props for this:

BTW, thanks for the responses on the BD-50 thing from DV. And I hope I wasn't out of line asking the question here - I know people have stated they're getting fed up with people jumping in here with questions about every bit of FUD someone throws out.

The only reason I asked though was because I was actively refuting his statements, and I simply needed to check up on a fact quickly before I risked responding and making a fool of myself. =)

Does Panasonic not also do BD-50 production now? I know I've seen it but can't remember a source.

(And is there a way to tell on the disc? I know how to spot BD-25's and BD-50's, but not how to interpret the manufacturer of the disc. I'd love to be able to find a Panasonic disc if possible hehe).
Vaughn doesn't have a clue what he's talking about - he has no contacts inside PHL, they run an extremely tight ship there and would not be talking to a disc reviewer about who they replicate discs for and what their yields are.

Panasonic have the most widely available BD50-R's for what it's worth.

Seconded! The outing of the so-called "source" about HD Now's claims is too funny!

Are you aware of the Easter Eggs that some Blu-ray discs have?……..
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/pira...hest.html#eggs

Well, people just finished up a photo shoot with a very attractive dirty blonde model -a pic of which will be an Easter Egg on some future Blu-ray discs in several months.

I’ll try to give you a heads-up on the first title to hunt for it/her in due course.
I private messaged you and gave you a detailed description of the photoshot. I am disappointed you didn't like it since I thought I would have been a great pic not only for Blu-Ray but also for Suicidegirls.com

But I am more than sure the blonde you have in mind is an excellent candidate and will do a fantastic job modeling her jacket.

So again I am out of luck no Blu-Ray disc for winning the contest, no jacket for the shoot.

Take heart mystik... rest assured that while the dirty blonde may have gotten the photoshoot, at the end of the day, blondes may make good arm candy, for the most part, brunettes have much more depth.

Bringing back an older post for a quick recap...

Indeed, and that's a strategy that's always confused me. If it were true that gamers and movie fans were like oil and water, neither would have to suffer terrible adaptations of the other's medium to theirs. In other words, there never would have been a BloodRayne film...or a Harry Potter video game.

To recap for anyone who doesn't want to follow the link.

Rdjam/HD NOW had his entire posting and claim history disected and shown to have missed almost every prediction or claim concerning CE and studio support. HD NOW then confessed that he hasn't proven his sources accuracy yet. Then lo and behold his source comes to the thread and tells him that he was played.

My question, does anyone think the covert FUD campaign HD DVD insiders have tacitly allowed with guys like rdjam will have any affect on the PR war?

Sadly some people will follow others blindly, that is why you have mass suicides like David Koresh and Davidian Compound, Jim Jones and Jamestown, Marshall Applewhite and Heaven's Gate.

This guy has tricked the less informed down the path hd dvd simply because they couldn't think for themselves or where to cheap to make the right investment.

Thank you for your comments. By no means do I think I lost out to her I just won't do a picture that I don't like.
Suicidegirls allows me to do my own planning and the clothing lines I have worked for give me the outfits and basically tell me give it the Suicidegirls look and feel. I wanted to do that here as well but it just didn't work out. Oh well such is life.

Mystik,
I can’t find that PM in my inbox, maybe you screwed up in sending it to me or else I deleted it inadvertently ? ? ?
The only other thing that I can think of is that it was a PM where you asked me about something confidential in which I can’t comment upon and at the very end of the message you may have contributed a tidbit about your planned photo shoot……..and I just didn’t read the entire PM.
I speed read all my PM’s.

Please send again.

By the way, paidgeek, thanks for putting the US ads for the PS3 - Universe of Entertainment and Only On. Very nice.

The only effect that I see it has had is that by forums such as AVS providing constant protectionism of rdjam and other high-profile red ants for months in the past (when they knew of his intentions and tactics) – it has totally turned off people in the business to those forums that provided such protectionism and tacit support…..as well as causing good members to flee that forum as refugees to places like this where they can enjoy their format of choice unhindered.

Do people forget all the troll-ism of rdjam in the Blu-ray software forum of AVS in the past, or his constant and I mean constant badgering of insiders such as paidgeek and talkstr8t for months that went unchecked by the moderators there before the *new rules* were instituted?

In the grand scheme of the outcome of the war, no, he/they haven’t made a difference……they’ve just been spinning their wheels. I’m sure before this thing is completely over there will be a few more rdjams popping up in places like HDD to continue the FUD.

P.S.
If rdjam truly wants to make a difference, I suggest he contribute $$ to a certain companies war chest or else co-finance their loan to allow for a corruption of a reasonable decision by WB…….as was done several months ago with another major.

Its now believed that the majority in the Jonestown massacre were murdered, not suicide victims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown

So Penton-man, how's CES lookin? Not asking about any one specific point (it's clear there's a few up in the air), but just checking to see if your general feeling is good vibes and we're still lookin good.

Since other members have been banned by AVS for posting stuff on other forums why isn't he banned by AVS for all of these lies he posts elsewhere?
