Certain systems can give you a pseudo upmix to Atmos.

I just stream drama now. I can’t the last drama I saw in theatres. To be fair, I will probably watch Oppenheimer at the cinema.

It is available to buy digitally for $15 and the pay to own digital via iTunes & Vudu is 4K Dolby Vision/HDR with Dolby Atmos. The Movies Anywhere stream is 4K DV/HDR with Dolby 5.1 sound.

I didn't care for it much.
[Show spoiler]Almost all of the characters are awful, and they get what they deserve.
The end.

I enjoyed seeing Reed Birney, though. He's come a long way since Crimewave.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I totally forgot about the Digital 4K copy. I was so focused on the "free" aspect of it being on HBO MAX.

Leonard Maltin isn't mincing any words...

The Menu
Here’s a film with an intriguing premise: a disparate group of people board a yacht that takes them to an island where a master chef (Ralph Fiennes) serves his invited guests a surprise dinner—and then some. I took the bait and waited patiently to see what the movie had in store. The answer is: nothing worthwhile. The Menu is a stupid film.

I think that's kind of the point. Chef's not really wrong.

An opinion is neither right or wrong and film criticism is subjective.

I'm normally a person that hates it when someone lazily throws out the "you just didn't get it" argument at someone who simply didn't like a "much loved" offering... but it does kind of seem like Maltin's take here reveals that this shoe fits him in this case.

There are criticisms to be had here.. The movie is approximately 10 minutes too long. There are scenes that could have been executed better...but calling this a "stupid" movie in a world overwhelmingly populated by truly stupid fare that often passes critical sniff tests, kind of implies that he just didn't get it.

I think the only film critic I truly respected was Roger Ebert and even he I disagreed from time to time. I disagreed with the opinion but respected the way he explained his views.

There are many films in which his opinions differed from my own, but no one has ever been able to dissect a movie with such sober acumen, love for film, and yet unpretentiousness as Roger Ebert. Leonard Maltin....not so much..
