This movie was okay. Not something I'm dying to re-watch. But I love Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult that I'll pick it up on physical media.

If the movie had 2 leads I disliked I would've forgot about it a day later.

Possibly my favorite film of the year. Hard to classify - part thriller, part horror, and a lot of dark comedy. Since I know it can be a make-or-break issue with some people, there is no cannibalism in the film.

Deeply disappointed that there is no 4K release or commentary track.

I agree. My biggest problem is the ending.

My goal would be
[Show spoiler]"If I'm going out, I'm at least gonna cause some chaos and mess up 'the menu' so the psycho cult members don't get what they wanted."

But then again, I'm petty and trifling.

I just felt like a lot of effort was put into the twists, especially the last one. Pretty sure there is a better ending to be had.

Any film with Ralph Fiennes can't be all bad though!

This is pretty much my take as well. First time I have watched Joy and she did a great job.

This was commented on though by Chef. And asked why they didn't

This was good! Definitely unique and interesting, and the cast was really good across the board. Also found it mostly unpredictable, except for
[Show spoiler]Margot being the sole survivor at the end, called that one.

It could easily be based on himself.

I've no regrets seeing it twice on the big screen.

Not bad at all. My only complaint is
[Show spoiler]Margot should have died too. I did not care for her at all.

I've no regrets watching this at home with my daughter in glorious 4K DOLBYVISION and awesome ATMOS sound....

Seriously, whatever critiques someone wants to offer up about the bitrates of streaming, this movie looked and sounded amazing on my setup.

I don't do theaters because people suck and my HT offers a better experience.

As for the movie, it was an 8 out 10 from me. I doubt it will get a UHD release, but will buy it if it eventually does.

I might have missed in it when I watched the movie, but does the movie ever say who the elderly lady is at the dinner? The one sitting by herself drinking all night? Was that supposed to be Chef's mother?

[Show spoiler]Would have been totally unfair as she wasn’t even supposed to be there.

I think unfair and fair are a pretty alien concept with this movie, you could argue it's all totally unfair in the first place.

I think unfair and fair are a pretty alien concept in the real world, I could argue that everything in this movie is totally fair....

Yeah, this movie very much spoke to my darker sensibilities..

The Menu is only playing in HD/5.1 via HBO MAX. At least on my ATV4K it is. Do you have a different device that gets you DV/Atmos?
