When are MGM going to start releasing catalogue titles again!

For a company celebrating its 90th anniversary there doesn't seem to be much celebration in the way or releasing catalogue titles.
Apart from Twilight Time releases and 4k Rocky and Robocop plus reissues of The Terminator and Escape From New York (with less features!!), what have they released ,they are literally sitting on catalogue titles that folks want and there couldn't be a more ideal time to issue some most wanted titles

They seem to be letting Twilight Time, Kino and Shout Factory release a bulk of their catalog titles.

They still do, mostly through other companies. So you can look forward to paying a lot more for them. I too hope they reconsider their current model.

The Kino releases seem to be pretty reasonably priced. $30 MSRP should put street price under twenty bucks with a little patience/digging.

It's too soon to tell but if I had to make a wish now I'd want them to sign more stuff over to Kino.

I have done so and I think I am more than justified in starting this thread as I am sure I am not the only one who wants more catalogue titles released from MGM,heck from all major studios whilst I am at it

In fairness the studio had been in a bit of a mess finanically for long time.

They've been slowly recovering from it all in the last 2-3 years.

Be patient, they'll probably start rolling out more catalog releases again very soon.

Well, they just botched the 4K remaster of The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, so I'd rather TT, KINO and Shout handle the bulk of their titles, now that Olive is (thankfully) out of the catalogue business.

MGM would have provided the transfer to TT, Shout or Kino. So it wouldn't have made a difference.

Not sure they'd touch it not that MGM has released it twice. Criterion turned down their request for a blu-ray of Silence of the Lambs, because all their extras had been used on the previous MGM release.

Looking through my MGM DVDS, there are quite a few titles I'd like to see:

It might have, because there's nothing wrong with the new scan. It's the mastering/color timing MGM did themselves that ruined it. So if they just gave whoever the original master without all their "fixes", then it definitely would've made a difference. If MGM was going to license it out, then I doubt they would've spent their own money on a "restoration" and therefore wouldn't have ruined it with the yellow/teal tint and ungodly contrast boost.

I loved the two genre collections they had: MGM World Films and MGM Avant-Garde Cinema.

Suture is one title from the Avant-Garde collection I could see Criterion releasing.

Liebestraum is one of my guilty pleasures.

This would be nice, though I don't have a lot of faith in MGM recently, seeing how they just let the last of The Alamo's elements become industrial waste.
