I plan on buying Sony's new Mastering Monitor BVM-HX3110. We'll use it at our 2023 TV and Projector Shootout Evaluation events and when we are calibrating TVs for our clients.

This is the most basic, prolly "no duh" question... but what is the standard practice for sharpness level on 4K content(UHD, streaming)?

NO! Don't assume 0.

That's because sharpness setting at minimum will vary between manufacturers, and you don't want to be unnaturally softening the image.

That'll be why you've seen so many answers. Sharpness on 0 on a LG is not the same as 0 on a Sony.

That video was hard to watch especially knowing Caleb wouldn’t pick a favourite because he never does. He only highlights positives of each manufacturer. At least him & his team doesn’t have to actually spend money on the products they voice their opinions on. They are an advertising YouTube channel afterall.

They earn money this way and us slating just because we disagree is not going to change anything. They have to be diplomatic, otherwise they risk being uninvited and alienated. It's a tough balancing act especially for those relying on YouTube for revenue. Always easy for us to throw random comments to prove how technically blessed and superior some of us are over them. Don't bite the hands that feeds you...
