I'll be honest, one reason I bought a Samsung QN90A is because of the bang for buck. Samsung has insane sales on their TVs, and even if they aren't the very best, when the cost to bridge that gap is double - in the multi-thousands - it can be really hard to justify. Especially at the speed of technology, where my QN90A is outdated now, but the top tier TV that had cost $2000 more at the time would also be outdated now.

It seems like the best plan is to buy the best TV the black friday after its release in the 2000-2500 range, and then replace that TV every few years, rather than spending 3500-4500 and keeping it for a long time.

That being said, the new Sony Bravia 9 looks like it might be worth the dough, very tasty looking TV. If I were going to dump a wheelbarrow of cash on a TV this year, no doubt it would be this one, might even last you til microled

Samsung's OLED and MiniLED 4K and their 8K QD MiniLED flagship TVs are excellent choices for all use-cases.

Sony's flagship BRAVI 9 QD MiniLED TVs are priced very reasonably when you consider their premium picture quality with all content and the excellent form fit and build quality.

Maybe not the most important attribute, but the BRAVIA 9's built-in audio system is also the best compared to all other TVs.

Here's the MSRP for BRAVIA 9 TVs, 85" $4,799, 75" $3,499, 65" $2,999.

Hope everyone gets the opportunity to see the BRAVIA 9 properly demonstrated with various content and with high and low ambient light viewing.

Yeah I think the Bravia 9 looks amazing. At 85" the Samsung msrp might look close, but during some sale periods Samsung discounts as much as 50% or more off MSRP, I never really seen this happen to the good Sonys

That being said, this years Bravia 9 might be worth the premium because it seems like it has everything that could last you until microled is affordable

Yeah this is true now.

But for instance, last month on Samsung's website the 85" QN90C was $1979, and it is frequent that the QN90 model of its current year gets to be 50% off by Black Friday, and even less than that by the following year; on Best Buy right now even the 85" QN90 is $2199. I rarely see Sonys high end sets get that much of a deep discount. The QN95 isnt much better than the QN90 even on the benchmark sites, and its hard to justify paying double the price for minor performance gains in this case.

But this new Sony Bravia 9 set, appears to be more advanced enough over the Samsungs that it may actually worth be paying more for.

You are comparing Samsung's last year's 2023 step down model. Samsung's current 85" QN90D is $4,499. The new 2024 QN90D is best compared to Sony's new 2024 BRAVIA 7 QD MiniLED TV that has a MSRP of $3,299.

Regarding Samsung's last year's QN90C and even all current Samsung. Sony and LG TVs are exactly the same price at Best Buy, Amazon and all authorized dealers.

We have Samsung's QN90D butt next to the QN95D and the QN95D is brighter, has deeper blacks and less blooming.

Sony priced their new 2024 high-end TVs very competitively this year.

Yeah, the QN95D is a bit better, it has about double the zones being the main improvement, but is double the zones worth double the price? Samsungs algorithm seems to be inferior to the new Sony B9 one from the tests I've seen, so even with doubling the zones the qn95 doesn't appear to be even close to the B9's backlight. Also aware its last years QN90C, but there is minimal gain from the QN90C to the QN90D, and Samsung doesn't discount the QN95 as heavily.

What I'm trying to say is that the QN90 is the best "bang per buck" model you can buy right now (again, QN90C now, but this years QN90D will be similarly discounted on Black Friday) that gets you most of the way to the QN95, but the QN95 does not appear to offer as many improvements as the Bravia 9 does for a similar large price jump after the QN90; the Bravia 9 is the first MINI LED I've seen that actually might justify spending $4k instead of $2k on a discounted QN90. Sony B7, on the other hand, doesnt seem as good of a value as the QN90. So, I'd think the best strategy is to either go with discounted QN90 or if you can to spend $4k+ forget Samsung and get the new Sony B9.

Well, that TV, an 85" Sony X900F, won't be my main TV for much longer. Yesterday, I purchased the 85" Sony Bravia 9, with VIP calibration, from Robert's store: Value Electronics.

Now I am in the anticipation phase where I eagerly await its arrival.

$20K for a TV is a whole lot of money in the year 2024.

Back in those days a 65 inch flagship was priced $6000+ as the tech was brand new. So if we keep that in mind, $20K for 115 inch TV is an absolute bargain.

Me being in a ground floor flat, I can manage to get this beast via the patio door provided you can PayPal me $19,999
