Too funny. So now "blooming, but at least it isnt white blooming thus it will be less distractive" is the new state of the art. My favorite part of Vincent Teoh's video is where he said Sony showed off Black Widow to...demonstrate that the red blooming around the red light on a black background more closely mimics how we see light in real life? I just about spit out my water. No offense to Vincent...he's just reporting on the Sony pitch.

I'm sure it's a good TV, but this clinging to old LED tech @ premium prices is nonsense as far as I'm concerned.

I am quite happy with my 85" Sony Bravia 9 mini-LED TV. I am very interested in the evolution of this tech and also that of Micro LED.

Let's not muddy the waters. Micro-LED is a whole different thing than this current Mini-LED technology. Micro promises the pixel level control just like OLED, not this band-aid approach to more zones and different backlights we see on Mini-LED.

I too look forward to what Micro-LED will bring, but it needs to come to pass. My point was this whole marketing around mini-LEDs is nonsense especially at a premium price.

You either have pixel level control or you don't. But to actually market that different color blooming more closely replicates what the eye would see against a dark background is absolute absurdity and spin. And just wait til you see the price...

As I have already said I am very pleased with my Mini-LED TV and as an owner of one I am already acquainted with their price. At the price that I paid I could have had an OLED, but Mini-LED suits my preferences and my needs better.

OLED and LED tech have both evolved many times since their debut. I remain enthusiastic about their future iterations along with that of emerging tech like Micro LED. Micro LED just has to work on that six figure price tag so that we mere mortals can afford one.

It also seems like jumbo sized Mini-LED TVs, those in the 100"+ sizes, are more affordable than anything offered by OLED. Are there even any OLED TVs offered in sizes above 100"? I think that 97" is the largest size OLED on the market (at $25,000). Mini-LED tech might bring these behemoth screen sizes within the reach of more people.

Anyway, I like having the options of all of these different types of display technology. There's something for everybody.

Sony's New 2025 BRAVIA 8M2, aka, XR80M2 QD OLED TV employs Samsung Display's new 2025 4th generation of the QD OLED panels.

The new 2025 QD OLED panels are brighter and more energy efficient.

It's about time to say "Night Night" to LED tech. I agree, it's old and outdated.
