I wonder how much that would cost. Sony's X92J is already $20000 for a non-flagship model so maybe double that?

Not even close. The Samsung 110" MicroLED has a price of $156,000.

Oh 10 inches bigger than Sony's so that makes sense. Still cheaper than building your own display from Sony's modular Crystal LEDs.

All MicroLED video brands are built with small modular MicroLED panels. Sony's new B and C series Crystal emissive LED modules have the thinnest edges so you can't tell it's not one large panel.

I was invited to Sony's AV Tech Expo at Sony Square in NYC for the opening of their new products showcase on Monday, July 26th at 9am. I'll report back on what I learn.

The cost of MicroLED is not consumer friendly and won't be for a long time. But it has found a home in the commerical market where cost is secondary to desired results. More and more movie/TV shows are using the tech. The money saved from being able to shoot on an environment controlled sound stage versus on location pays for the tech very quickly.

We're a good 5-8 years away from microLED being a consumer thing. Until then, we've got miniLED, which will be good enough. I've seen the miniLED PC monitors and those definitely get the job done, but miniLED needs $$$$ to make a good product worth buying, so a cheap offering won't cut it, due to compromises.

After the forerunner Panasonic who worked closely with LG Display, since 2020 LG Display offers an optional heatsink kit with their Oled panels. So far we have Toshiba, Sharp and Sony who use a heat sink in their Oled tv in addition to Panasonic.

With a greater quantity of production of the new generation Olel panel (Evo), we will undoubtedly have more manufacturers next year with this option.
New generation of slab plus the option of heatsink structure, we will certainly have the best OLEDs produced to date.
