Pics be it unboxed or boxed, for whichever display –
![]() and we especially love dem big boxes, as once you remove the handlebars and such they can double as a facility to pre-ship one’s mountain bike - ![]() to a distant riding/racing venue so it’s waiting at the hotel for you when you arrive there later on. Heck with a BIG box for a 97” TV you could likely take off the wheels and fit in your and your mate’s bike lengthwise. P.S. Just beware of dem bulls – Last edited by Penton-Man; 02-16-2022 at 09:31 PM. Reason: added a P.S. |

9 months later, zero regrets ditching my flagship lcd for the 83A90J. The tv is amazing and the technology is only getting better from what I hear. My only regret is not having more time to watch TV. I've got a mere 500 hours on it since last June. |

Obviously the blacks on the G2 will be much better, likely the dimming too. But the Samsung gets really bright. I have a 55” OLED in another room and the relative lack of brightness is obvious, separate from the size. Challenge will be what to do with the 88” once a larger display is in the house. I could swap it into the spot where the 55” is but it’d be oversized for the location… |

Love Caleb's A95K review! Mimics my findings when I spent time with the 65A95K at Sony's US HQ. A95K is coming very soon!

Gotta say, those early impressions of the A95K have stalled me buying an A80J. Wanted to try the latter as a stopgap as I think most of my fears/qualms about OLED have been allayed, or allayed by the Sony implementation anyway as I won't touch any LG TV with a barge pole, but now I'll hold on. I've got some money saved up and just as a £3300 spend on the ZD9 has lasted a full five years and provided premium performance throughout that period then 4 grand for the 65A95K doesn't look like a bad bet. Won't jump on it straightaway though, will obviously wait for reviews and more importantly see what actual user impressions are over the short to medium term.

A fun little thought experiment: Imagine that both Sony and Panasonic stopped selling TVs (to be fair, Panasonic are halfway there...), and then some time later your ZD9 broke down. Now you're in the market for a new TV, but Sony and Panasonic aren't options. Who do you go to next? You aren't fond of LG, and even less fond of Samsung, so the two Korean giants are out. Would you look to Philips or something at that point? |

@Oniiz86, sorry for my typo, meant to say A95K.
To all others, I spent some time with the 65A95K at Sony's US HQ and it was next to the 65A90J and you can easily see the advantages of the overall and specular highlights having the benefits of the larger dynamic tonal range, which give the images more detail and a more natural dimensional look. Also color saturation and color volume were significantly improved on the A95K. Low luminance areas of the picture were also more detailed. |

Your experiment is not my idea of fun. Philips are even worse than the others. I'd seek out an older set from Sony or Pannysonic and just get on with it. I'm not a serial TV upgrader anyway like some of the people out there, it's just too much hassle which is why I like to get a premium model with enough quality to provide "reference" performance for years. That's fair. I always refer to these little thought experiments as "fun", but that's mostly sarcasm. ![]() I understand and agree on wanting to get a really good TV and then use it for years. I don't know how some have the energy to do yearly upgrades, exchange each TV like 20 times until they either give up or get a unit to their satisfaction, etc. |
