They’re still set on Store Demo mode, and the side by side LG’s in our store here seem to have slightly different looks.

FYI: As per few X95K owners, the recent VRR / LD software update appears to have fixed Local Dimming issues issues.

Any news of Micro-LED sets? Tired of these stopgap techs like QD-OLED.

And we still don't know if "5 years away" means viable for most consumers. Or just the folk who purchase 8K Mini-LED screens today for the brightness alone. And projectors with adequate blacks for HDR and for the screen real estate. The 5-10K+ crowd.

We really don't know if MicroLED will be available the way OLED is at 55 and 65" for on or below 2K 'n' 3K price points.

The issue is - no one seems to be trying to make a 55" MicroLED TV. They are all using the tile approach. That is way more expensive than a single panel. It may be an issue of yield rates.

MicroLED may be the product for the well to do and OLED/LCD for all others.

I tested Samsung's next-gen OLED TV, and it highlights current OLED's big problem

LOL.
I think the highlighted QD-OLED problem is size. Big problem.
The old school OLED still has the 77, 83" market beat.

I would give up on movies if I had to settle for 65". What a joke.

Exactly. I will never go smaller from my 77, even if there is better PQ in a 65.

In the general sense, do some research into how microLED works and scales with different display sizes and resolutions and you'll see why the smaller sets are non-existent, while larger panels and tiles are the norm. Yield and lack of manufacturing lines are just one piece of the puzzle, with the rest being the tech and science behind it. If you were to ask for a microLED HDTV at the market favorite sizes that living room users enjoy, you could certainly get one - if they actually manufactured such things - but when you bump up the resolution into 4K and 8K, you have to go with larger display sizes or very small high-density ones at the cutting edge, with very low yields and difficulty of assembly.

Rinse repeat every year... It's simply not in their interest to hit that unicorn standard again, and give people a 10 year relevant TV

As per the few, they say blooming is better than the ZD9 but once again all don't have Geoff Vision but these few look like hardcore ZD9 owners.

Too bad they weren't able to do an actual side by side comparison (for black level and blooming control). Also, they're 65" ZD9 owners. Personally, I'm more interested in how the 75ZD9 will fare against the (85)Z9K.

For regular folks, it is not easy to do side by side unless u meant the ability to compare 2 or more TVs situated in different rooms under the same roof.

The only time I got a chance to do side by side was ZD9 Vs ZH8. Tthe ZD9 had better contrast and blooming control. I am thankful the ZH8 broke and the Z9J didn't even reach the home screen due to a panel fault.

As of now, the 2 ZD9 owners have given +ve feedback about Z9K which wasn't the case with X95K. Sadly the Z9K warrants too much Sony tax unless you are ready to wait until next year.

@Robert.Zohn thoughts on 98" Samsung vs 100" Sony PQ? And...have you watched either next to the 88" 8K OLED? Would love to hear how much the size makes up for any PQ gap.

@anthonymoody thanks for the very good question! We had Sony's 100" X92 wall mounted next to Samsung's 98" QN90A with the same content on both.

Here's a video on Sony's 100" X92 https://www.youtube.com/supported_br...tube.com/watch.

Here's the video on Samsung's 98" QN90A https://www.youtube.com/supported_br...tube.com/watch

D-Nice calibrated and worked with me on the evaluation of these two ultra large TVs. Here's a YouTube video of our discussion on the 100X92 vs. 98QN90A. https://www.youtube.com/supported_br...tube.com/watch

Overall Samsung's 98QN90A is moderately brighter and more color saturated then Sony's X92, but very respectfully to Samsung's beautiful 98QN90A, Sony's 100X92 is more accurate out of the box. Both calibrate beautifully!

Neither come close to the overall picture quality performance to LG's 88" Z2, but it is true that the larger screen size is a nice enhancement to the immersive experiences when you are 8' or further from the screen.
