I wish Sony core pure stream was offered on all 4k TVs not just the expensive Sony TVs.

I like Sony's BRAVIA 9 QD MiniLED TV over TCL's QM8K QD MiniLED TV. Sony's new XR 2nd Generation of the XR processor and the upgraded Back Light Master Drive that follows the EOTF PQ Curve perfectly.

I see that Sony has lowered the price of the Bravia 8II; it can be purchased for 3K. Good for Sony. I have to attack Sony when the prices of their TVs are outrageous, but when they lower them, I have to give them credit for listening to their customers.

Traditionally, many companies will have higher prices at the beginning of the model year. Lowering prices later based upon sales. Also, if you have a higher initial starting point and then lower it psychologically, many buyers will perceive it to be a better value. All companies try to maximize profit for their shareholders, but I do believe Sony makes a superior product, and they stand behind their products.

There's a sucker born every minute. The market has decided and by the looks of how the market is trending, the people have said, the Bravia 8II was overpriced. |

It's just like buying a car. The buyer chooses what features and what price that they are willing to pay. In a free society that's called capitalism.

For those wondering about microLED, quite a few vendors have stepped in to fill the void that exists for "affordable" (relative to Samsung pricing) home installs, including custom builds and "stand-alone" assembled units. I'm in the process of sorting out what is what, in regards to where these panels are coming from, but there are some peculiar things I'm seeing, such as sub-4K resolution - including 1080P - in many of these products, which explains the lower cost offerings. That's not to say you can't get 4K (or higher) from them, you're just tied to a size/resolution equation that requires you to go bigger/more expensive and with certain sizes.
