Default Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (1977-1983)

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away George Lucas made Star Wars , The Empire Strikes Back , Return of The jedi and which took the world buy storm .

This Orignal Trilogy was ,is and allways will be the holy grail of all movies

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

The heck is wrong with that empire poster? Did someone randomly paste Luke, Han and Leia into it? Why?

Would I be correct in saying that when Star Wars ANH was written Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two completely separate entities? It's just the way Obi Wan speaks of them to Luke makes it seem as if the idea to merge them (and make Luke and Leia brother and sister) was envisaged during the writing of ESB. I don't have an issue with it BTW, just curious.

Lucas wrote the initial story with three acts, but later revised each one as it was filmed. At some point, he admitted to merging Anakin with Vader for dramatic reasons, but never clarified exactly when. The first iterations of the story were done around 1973, and he kept redrafting it every so often. I still love some of his early ideas, like Han Solo being a green-skinned amphibian and Luke being a 60-year-old general.

Yes. Anakin and Vader were still separate people in the early drafts of Empire, even: there was a scene where Anakin's force ghost visited Luke when he's on Dagobah (or what was to become Dagobah)!

Could at least use original posters for all three in the OP, instead of that ghastly Special Edition one for Empire.

I love the Special Edition poster for Empire! What that is above I don't know, it's an extra special photoshoppy version, not the Struzan classic:

That looks odd without the main characters on it. Pasted or not.

Its part of a triptych design, with each having a different theme. Here's the full shot, unbroken...

Ah ha! That looks familiar. Thanks.

Looks better in that full shot. They shouldn't use one by it's self as the main poster though.

I love them SE posters, whether on their own or as the full triptych. Gorgeousness.

Yeah, Struzan did an incredible job with them. I wish they'd hired him for the full "Force Awakens" cast poster; the D23 exclusive was brilliant.

Just wish the droids has been on New Hope's and Yoda on Empire's. Annoying that ROTJ (ugh) has so many of the best characters on it... and Wicket.

It always annoyed me that they used the shot from ESB with Luke and Vader on the ROTJ poster. I understand it fits with the color palette, but it still looks off.

But it doesn't really fit, does it? Maybe if Luke's lightsaber had been GREEN like it is in the film, it would fit better. And better distribution of the side character across the other posters would make this one feel less stuffed. Oh well, it's RotJ; fitting that the worst movie gets the worst poster, I suppose.

I am watching Star Wars right now and Han just shot Greedo.

Harmy deserves a lifetime recognition award at this year's Oscar ceremony.

This is my favorite Empire poster and probably my favorite of the saga.

Pffft, Space movies...who needs them. These films will likely be massive flops.

I disagree i have a feeling they become classics in time if only people give them a chance.
