That is unusual. I’ll ask over at originaltrilogy.com. I’ll check the Vudu forums too.

Right? I've learned to live with all the new additions that have been pasted in over the years but that was a change too far.

Tough call. Greedo is probably my most hated change but it's also one of the easier ones to overlook too so it's almost a wash at this point.

If I could only undo one change I would probably put the Han/Jabba meeting back on the cutting room floor where it belongs. A close second would be undoing the 'enhanced' Mos Eisley but that might be cheating because it's so many small changes rolled into one.

That and the song at the beginning of Return of Jedi are on my list of things to remove pronto!

Jedi Rocks is a crime against humanity. It is literally the worst thing anyone has ever done.

Move over mass genocide, you are no longer #1 on the list. Oh and Greedo shooting first is worse than gang rape.

Don't get that godawful Jabba scene in IV.

The Hayden ghost really gets to me. I grew up with memories of Sebastian Shaw's Anakin Skywalker beaming at Luke with approval and pride.

Still not as jarring as seeing Teddy Ruxpin take down AT-AT walkers with rocks and sticks.

Still not sure why Lucas thought that was a good idea. Freaking hated the ewoks when I was young even though ROTJ was my favorite movie. Kids loved Luke and Vader... not stupid stuffed animals.

You know, when I was a little kid watching these movies (maybe like 5), I thought the frog Jabba grabbed to eat after he dumped the girl into the rancor pit was actually her after what happened. I also thought the second Death Star was what was left after they blew up the first.

Five year old logic.

Not just "five year old logic", lol... I was twelve in 1983 and I totally thought it might be the remains of the first Death Star, before I saw the movie. I remember thinking that the first time I saw this publicity image in Starlog Magazine, a few months before the film was released:

I thought the same thing before seeing Return. I hadn't seen Empire at this point either. So thought they had another go in Empire as well

If you walked into Best Buy or wherever hoping to get the OT on DVD, would it be the 2004 or 2011 versions? Are the 2004 special edition DVDs even still in print?

Same here.

I've always wanted to see scaffolding around the Death Star in RotJ, just so it definitely hits home it's being constructed. Attention to detail.

It's been twenty years and I still can't get used to the additional 1997 / 04 / 11 footage.

I'm very glad I still have the original versions - even in sub-par quality.
