Always wondered why Anthony Daniels wasn't in that group photo.

But man, like DCW said, that version is a major hit to the feels.

Jeremy Bullock, original actor of Boba Fett, has passed away.

That sucks. Just like Trek, it won't be too long until all the original actors are gone.

I've been thinking that lately as well. It will be so strange when they've all passed.

I wish that we could get a Prequel or Sequel trilogy to the OT.

And I wish we'd get good prequels for Harry Potter.

Im with ya - ROTJ is fabulous. Yeah, yeah, the Ewoks get a tad silly. The thing is: The idea of guerilla warfare and a mean local species was great. They just got out of hand with the kiddy stuff or whatever.

I have to be honest, my last few Star Wars marathons have finished at the end of ROTJ. Its a definitive ending to the Skywalker saga. The sequels just dont offer enough for me to bother. If we review what we get at the end of ROTJ:

1) Lukes journey is complete. He knows his lineage, was able to find the good in his dad and reconciled with his sister that he finds out about.
2) The Emperor is dead. Yeah, he is. Luke was able to hold off and beat him.
3) The Empire at this stage has to be severely weakened and "done". This is now two rounds of death star fails and zillions of dead troopers and officers. Its over.
4) Han has completed his character arc and is now a respected leader. He's also "manning up". Great character.
5) Leia also has closure about her dad/brother & has developed a great relationship with Han.

So, as you can see, the Skywalker saga has completed here.

ESB and ROTJ are the only sequels worthy of the name.

As fun as some parts of the film were, I could without compunction cut out RotJ and have a two film "trilogy". How sound does this sound?

It's a bit like Endgame: an less impressive retread of what was done before. Similarly the Infinity Saga for me ends with Infinity War.

Without RotJ, Vader is still cool, as is Boba Fett. Similar to how without Endgame, Thor and Thanos are still cool.

Han Solo is always great in the OT, but I'm more partial to having him be left defiantly frozen than have that goofy blind fight, and then spend the final battle basically bleeding out while Lando does all the cool space battle stuff with Han's ship. I like Lando, but that was a little like Anakin taking out the trade federation in the Naboo fighter.

Without RotJ, there's no creepy bro/sis stuff that needs to be awkwardly explained away.
