[Show spoiler] Jeepers, they're practically identical. That first pic I posted was obviously a way of showing how similar Stan appears to Mark. |

Those pics are edited. Stan doesn't have the mole on his lower lip, or the freckle on his left cheek (in those pictures they are in identical locations on both actors faces). Look up Stan images independently and compare them to Hamill pics. Don't Google comparison pictures.

I posted a fun comparison pic to share with SW fans on the forum. It's not a big deal. Plus, Stan looks more like Hamill than Alden Ehrenheich does compared to Ford. But I digress. Last edited by dgoswald; 06-09-2016 at 08:06 PM. |

A 4K “Star Wars” Restoration Has Been Completed But Which Version Is It
http://www.darkhorizons.com/a-4k-sta...een-completed/ http://io9.gizmodo.com/gareth-edward...ist-1790418019 This has already led to two obvious questions – the first is if it’s Lucas’ 1997 Special Edition version, or is it (as many fans have wanted) the long sought after original theatrical version? The other of course being when the public will get to see it. |

Give us both then - 77/80/83 versions for the purists, special editions for the those who love them, load them with extras (Star Wars to Jedi, Empire of Dreams, audition tapes, etc) and watch the money roll in from every side. People WILL buy if you give it to us.

Anyone ever read these books? I picked up one in B&N last weekend and it's hilarious!
51WzofKkSvL.jpg “In time so long ago begins our play, In war-torn galaxy far, far away.” “Impressive, most impressive, worthy lad, Thine Obi-Wan hath taught thee well, and thou Hast master'd all thy fears. Now, go! Release Thine anger, for thy hate alone can strike Me down!” “Thou man of scruffy looks, thou who herd’st nerfs,” “O, vile! These tauntauns have an awful stench outside, But nothing did I know of wretchedness, Disgusting rot, and sick’ning filth till this New smell hath made attack upon my nose.” |

The major issue with letting some of the alterations through and not others is that everyone seems to have their own opinion regarding exactly where the line was crossed with the Special Editions. The easiest solution is probably just to make both versions available via seamless branching. To ignore the theatrical editions is an affront to the history of cinema, and to ignore the special editions and prequels (as much as the whole ordeal disgusts me) is to disregard the opinion of the man who created this universe in the first place.
For me, it was most of the CGI. The Cloud City enhancements were about the only things I felt actually added to the film, because mostly it was adding windows to make the place seem less claustrophobic. The Mos Eisley expansion wasn't awful, but I felt it was a bit too busy here and there and didn't really add to the film. The CGI Jabba and Jedi Rocks are absolute no-nos. The idea of replacing the stand-in Emperor didn't really irk me, but the dialogue change did; clunky prequel-era dialogue is the last thing I want in the older films. Inserting Hayden into RotJ was the height of poor taste. Removing matte lines and other cleanup work of that type I had no problem with, and personally I'd rather see those minor things retained. But if it comes down to a choice between totally un-enhanced, and the special edition, I'll always choose the former. Disney always does great work restoring their older titles when creating new scans, so I'm not worried about the A/V quality either way. Last edited by TM2-Megatron; 12-31-2016 at 01:14 AM. |
