Network's Black Friday sale is now live. I got an email about it today.

Quote:
Black Friday 2018

It's Black Friday - not a reference to today's weather - the day of the year where millions of people around the world fight to get the best bargains on a variety of goods, and, to celebrate, we've decided to launch a sale of our own.

Save up to 50% on a selection of titles, including: ITV 60 (Was: £49.20, Now: £25.00), UFO: The Complete Series (Was: £28.17, Now: £14), and Pipkins: The Collection (Was: £17.74, Now: £11).

Sale Ends: 15:00, Thursday 29th November
My order from it is UFO The Complete Series.

The price for this went down for me from £14 to a reduced price of £11.67 + shipping of £6.70. That makes it a total of £18.37 for me. Not bad for this series from Network. Amazon.co.uk is offering the exact same series for £44.99.

I've been waiting for this for a while on Blu. Never expected it would be Network that did the honours on it. That's even more shelf space saved when I ditch the DVD for the (presumably) slim line Blu Ray casing.

My order of UFO: The Complete Series arrived by post on Monday. The set looks really nice. It looks really neat with six blu-rays inside it.

I also got an email today saying that Network have a boxset sale in time for Christmas with 20% off with selected box-sets.

But they are all DVDs not Blu-rays. The sale ends on the 17th of December.

So I just bought the complete series of Captain Scarlet and like a number of people were quite surprised it had zero extras from the DVD sets. Why did that happen? What a weird decision Network.

Hopefully that means we'll get the superior sequel Sweeney 2 somewhere down the line.

The DVDs weren't released by Network, so I would guess Network don't have the rights to include them on their Blu-ray releases?

But even if they had been, as we've seen with Randall and Hopkirk, Department S and Man in a Suitcase (which didn't even have many extras to port) it's their policy these days not to carry over extras to Blu. Or even some DVD editions - The Goodies complete set is missing all the extras from the previous releases and before that they dropped the extras from the Sweeney movies for their reissue. Maybe they only licensed them for one-time DVD use?

I have given up trying to work out networks strategy with regards the sweeney. This relase should mean we will see Sweeney 2 on blu but after the shelving of any further bluray releases of the tv series, i am a trifle sceptical.

Too right. Still dreaming of a series 2-4 release on blu-ray too.

Oh my ****ing god! Network just became new favourite label. A monumentally abysmal film, brain destroyingly stupid on every level. I utterly adore it. Day one purchase.

Take Me High is terrific fun. Cliff in a houseboat in Birmingham selling burgers with Deborah Watling... I love it.

And Man About The House is, of course, another Hammer Film to tick of the list.

(Fingers crossed for the On the Buses trilogy)

Network produced an entire bonus disc of extras for the series including a 50 minute documentary but it was only available from their website as part of a lavish Volume 4 option.
Keep an eye out as I would expect similar for Joe 90.

Their action man hours such as Department S do not include any bonuses on the Blurays even when Network produced the dvd sets with extras.
As already pointed out it was ITV who released Scarlet on dvd but the extras on the Network exclusive are much better
