I should also make reference to The Women In Black video quality. It was filmed in 16mm and, as is expected, this doesn't yield a constant about of image detail.

What seems to be the focus from viewing and reading the restoration notes. Is to remove damage and dirt, and give maximum consitiency to video levels for the most stable and accurate high definition image possible. I conclude this is meticulously achieved, mataining solid image consistency that remains firmly rooted in it's made for broadcasting origins. But now made fit for modern television presentation.

My film viewing setup can be described as bread and butter living room. A C8 65", soundbar and UB820. So i don't know how this will fair on a projected HT setup, I don't know. Would be interesting to hear someone from that background give their thoughts.

No the 1989 TV version has real atmosphere, tension and psychology. One of those flicks that uses it's limitation to bring out innovation. It's similar I'd say to The Wicker Man where on the surface everything seems prosaic, staid, an unnerving normality, that slowly unravels.

Definitely an experience. A fine hidden gem.
Absolutely. So superior to the film. So happy this is in my collection.

Was hoping a label in the States would do a release of Assault, as apparently the version on Network's Blu-ray release is cut by four minutes.

Likely going to get Station Six-Sahara, unless a States release is announced with exclusive extras (giving me a good dilemna), and the upcoming release of Who Done It?
I wasn't aware Assault was cut. Do you happen to know what was cut?

This is what I was aware of:

Assault has been newly scanned from the original 35mm camera negative

And the couple of reviews I'd read didn't mention any cuts

I've got the French DVD of Weird Mob, but not cracked it open yet, any one seen this disc?

Thanks for the heads up about Espionage!

I've done a post search in the UK & Ireland sub-forum, because I knew the post was there. I've put the film's title in bold in the first quoted post, and in the third quoted post, have left in the part of the post which is about the film:

So the question is, what should I axe between these unfortunate contenders?

Who Killed Teddy Bear?
Death Line
Assault
Capricorn One
Hawk The Slayer
Unearthly Stranger

What sucks is that I really want to see them all, plus more.

OceanBlue - I think the user TheBigVitus was referring to Who Killed Teddy Bear, elaborating on what Aclea said. You can read details of the missing footage here:

http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=47908

I'm not aware of Assault being cut.

Slayground may be another possibility.
It’s pretty easy to see what titles should be coming to Blu-ray, I assume anything with an HD transfer is on the cards.

Just watched my copy of The Flying Deuces and experienced severe skipping/freezing during the final airplane scene. Totally ruined the movie, had anyone else had this issue?

BarnDoor, thanks for clearing up that query I had (and for providing the DVD Compare link for Who Killed Teddy Bear?). I had got confused (easily done, it happens sometimes), thinking it was Assault which had four minutes of cuts.

Whether a States label are interested in acquiring Assault for a Blu-ray release (with some exclusive extras included), I don't know (ideally, Vinegar Syndrome, as they apparently did a very good release of Beware My Brethren).

It was completely fine for me, with my xbox one S. I often had issues with my old LG blu-ray player because firmware not uptodate.

Methinks Network have made a massive error. There's a 30% off comedy sale, but I doubt it's intended to stretch to everything - and certainly not pre-orders!

[Show spoiler]I dont remember it but I am sure some will

https://networkonair.com/all-product...-town-blu-ray-

I was going to order this, but the aspect ratio is listed as 1.78:1, so I need to have it confirmed that they've not cropped the vintage 1.33:1 footage for these new episodes.
I was finally able to get some kind of confirmation that the 4:3 footage in Further Out of Town is in its original aspect ratio. This video clip from Network on Facebook would seem to confirm that:

https://www.facebook.com/networkdist...1676662045098/

For some reason, this clip has not been uploaded to Network's product listing or YouTube channel, so I only found it via a Google search yesterday. Therefore, I then ordered this along with Not Now, Comrade, which, upon closer inspection, I should have pre-ordered immediately.

According to DVDcompare:

Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Network - No Cuts - The BBFC cut for an 'X' has been restored since the DVD release:
R6 - Remove the shot of the last dirty pictures examined by Mrs Banford which shows a woman, her knees raised and legs apart exposing her crotch (91:12)
