Picture quality is on a par with the Spanish disc. The film is licensed from Studio Canal and includes the original BBFC certificate and British Lion logo. I prefer the first half of the film which is part travelogue (great to see 1950s film of Madrid) than the second half, which concentrates more on the featured ballet and other dance scenes. Network have done a good job in providing some extras with the limited edition booklet including pages from the original exhibitors book. Kudos to Network especially for obtaining the 30 minute reminiscences of production associate Judith Coxhead who at over 90 years of age tells some great stories about the making of the film, especially concerning the temperaments and egos of the stars (all of whom seemed to have an inflated opinion of themselves) and others involved in the film. |

Has anyone seen the Adelphi film Stars in Your Eyes & is it any good? I notice that it is stacked in the extras department with 4 bonus films from Adelphi.

I remember when Honeymoon was announced earlier this year in the "Coming Soon" section of their website. Fairly shortly after, it was removed for a short period and I e-mailed Network to ask what had happened. They replied saying that it was only briefly held back to allow a bit more time to include some extra material, which I presume is the Judith Coxhead interview. Thankfully the title reappeared back on their website not long afterwards. I would love to have seen some "then and now" comparison shots of the travelogue sequences, just to compare 1950's Spain to how it looks today. Nevertheless this is a release I've been looking forward to for some time now, so full marks to Network. |

Ok, here we go with another great Network Sale. Check out my pirate booty, mateys, and if there's a bad choice in the bunch, I don't want to hear about it! Instead celebrate me! Celebrate me with extreme affection!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The math in dollars comes out to be less than $9.00 each, including shipping. It would be more if the customs demons latched onto it here in Germany, but luckily I have a friend in London who will ship stuff to me and mark it as a gift (which I think still works?). Maybe it is a lot of the same old titles each sale, but I can't afford to get everything I want in one fell swoop, so I'm glad for some of the same old as well as the handful of new titles they do add. Slow and steady wins the race when you aren't one of those upper class blue blood assjerks! |

There's quite a lot of new stuff - none of the ones I picked up have been at this good a price before, which is the case for most of the first two pages if you list them newest first. As with previous limited number of title sales, there are a lot of titles released around the same time as the newer ones in this sale that aren't included - The High Command, Please Turn Over, Siege of Pinchgut, Dulcima, Keep Fit, Seance on a Wet Afternoon, Man in the Iron Mask and Count of Monte Cristo for example - but it's a good cross-section that keeps my spending comparatively manageably rationed.

I think i'm gonna pick up Rome Express cos i love movies set on trains & i've never seen it & i'm swayed by all the positivity for it on here. Just need to find something to pair it with...i can't decide.
Station Six Sahara, Eyewitness, Man On The Run or Passport To Shame? What are folks opinions on these four. |
