The Stingray movies are scheduled to ship on the first day of the announced Royal Mail STRIKE (expected to last one week).
"Work to rule between 15 July and 19 July and strike action from 20 July to 22 July." (BBC News July 6, 2022).

I just received 'Seance on a Wet Afternoon' and it refuses to play on my region-free LG player. The region warning video file just loops endlessly despite the region set to B. This is the first Region B disc that has ever had any issues. All of my Arrow, SC, BFI, etc discs play flawlessly. I can check on a region free Samsung player I used to have but that was typically a little dodgy on region switching compared to this LG. Any ideas what could be happening?

This happened to me with ONE disc in the Supercar box-set. I have an LG 4K multi-region. I pressed the, "Disc Menu," button on the remote and it took me to the play menu. Perhaps it will work for you. Good luck.

Did you ever load the disc up set to another region, before realising and changing?

This can happen with my region free Oppo, load it in the wrong region by mistake and when you reload the disc with the player set to correct region, the resume function takes it back to the region warning video file. On my Oppo you can override this by pressing stop as the disc reloads, maybe you can do something similar?

That's interesting about the resume and that could be what happens. I got it to work by setting the region to B, rebooting the player with a different B disc and then swapping in 'Seance'. Seems to work for now.

Thanks for the suggestions!

After watching the film I think 'Seance on a Wet Afternoon' could have benefit greatly from a de-speckle and scratch removal pass. The opening credits and first reel in particular have some pretty rough areas that I found distracting. Still a great film.

Think everyone got that shipping email but in the email it states July 18th so I don’t think any have actually been sent out yet.

Posted same as you a few back. Those who think it’s already on its way were deceived by the email title saying “Stingray Shipped”.

You need to read the text in the email which said
Quote:
As promised, your Stingray: Super Space Theater discs will be on the way to you from the 18th July and includes: …
Very clear they won’t be shipped until at least end of next week so hopefully timed to arrive Monday 18th.

It should be made a sticky that Network "shipped" emails mean jack s***.

In their recent e-mail about the 'Re-View' line, Network state this:

Quote:
Yes, Network is 25 years old, the vaults are still open and we have some very special releases coming up throughout the year, including some astonishing new restorations of some old favourites.
One suspects they're referring to some Hammer titles here (I'm also hoping a Blu-ray of Children of the Stones is on the cards - if the original 16mm elements for the exterior sections survive - given it's been OOP for a while now, curiously so unless Network have lost the rights). So far this year Network's film offerings have been pretty sparse, so it's probable they're hard at work on some major releases.

Another possibility is Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense. I've seen rumours elsewhere that a Blu-ray release is in the works, and Network seem the only real candidate.

Two things that I would also love on Bluray.

That one would be a genuine surprise given the 20th Century Fox/Disney involvement.

I haven't actually seen any of them since the repeats on a couple of the satellite channels back in the 1990s, so I wouldn't say no.

Hard to know for sure, but since we at least got a DVD release of it (albeit some time ago now), I'd say it has a better chance than Journey to the Unknown anyway. The DD Entertainment DVD merely credited Hammer Films (I'm guessing they also hold the materials), and since Network now have a deal in place, hopefully there aren't any major obstacles impeding a Blu-ray release.

I believe the UK rights for Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense lie with Studio Canal now. They have lots of clips on their youtube channel.

Interesting. Do you have any links to those? The only official clips I can find on there were uploaded by Hammer a few years back.
