I'd say follow your own nose, watch a lot of clips/trailers and see what takes your fancy. Then maybe ask about specific shows/films here before buying.

Thanks, I'm starting to do some of that. I'm mostly just looking at stuff I can't get anywhere else.

I have the Network release which is fine for me, there is a Australian release which comes with more extras, however, it comes at a pretty price if importing. Like a lot of Network releases prices are all over the place at the moment, this morning it was around £15 on Amazon.co.uk and now its closer to £22.

PS I don't think you can go far wrong with Hell Drivers and The League of Gentlemen.

I recommend the following small list, albeit some of the BD releases drop the extras from the previous DVD ones but might also have new extras as well:

DVD

Upstairs Downstairs (TV Series)
The Sweeney (TV Series)
Espionage (TV Series)
The Ealing Studios Rarities Collection - Either the boxset, which has all 14 volumes) or all 14 individual volumes.
Wood Work: A Celebration - Victoria Wood collection of ITV stuff she did.
Plays for Britain (TV Mini-Series)
Storyboard (TV Mini-Series)
If There Weren't Any Blacks You'd Have to Invent Them (TV) - Contains both the 1968 & 1974 versions.
Armchair Theatre (TV series) - Get all 8 volumes (4 Armchair Theatre & 4 Armchair Theatre Archive)
Armchair Cinema (TV Series) - Includes The Sweeney pilot Regan.

BD

Hammer House of Horror (TV Mini-Series) - The more expensive Australian BD release does include extras.
The Woman in Black (1989) (TV)
Helldrivers
The Rebel (1961)
Wolcott (TV Mini-Series)
The Persuaders (TV Series) - Either the 2011 or 2018 releases, albeit the original 2011 release includes a 156-page liner notes book "The Persuaders!: Read and Destroy" a complete series guide by Andrew Pixley.
The Naked Civil Servant (TV)
Dream Home - Hong Kong Category III film from 2010.
The League of Gentlemen
The Ipcress File - The more expensive Australian Imprint BD release contains the two sequels in The Harry Palmer Collection.
Regan - The Sweeney Pilot
Sweeney! - Film version of The Sweeney. Neither this nor the sequel (as well as the US BD release) are in the correct ratio of 1.85:1.
Sweeney 2 - Sequel film version of The Sweeney. Neither this nor the first one (as well as the US BD release) are in the correct ratio of 1.85:1.

If anyone still wants these Shop Gerry Anderson have put limited quantities back on sale this afternoon. They said found after a warehouse audit. Some titles already sold out.

These are both the deluxe Anderson boxsets but also standard releases which have been on sale at other places like Amazon and HMV.

Many are priced higher than former Network website prices plus remember Shop Gerry Anderson add quite chunky postage prices on top unless you exceed the minimum for free shipping (should be okay for the deluxe boxsets to the UK) but individual standard releases will attract postage.

I've spent $200 scrambling to pick up the remaining Network Blu-ray/DVD releases I didn't have already (my partner is gonna kill me ) from various sites that will ship to Canada.

Rarewaves has confirmed shipment of my copy of The Saint (monochrome episodes) and the Retro-Action BD release that collects the previous 3 volumes. I'm still waiting on them to send me In My Mind and The Man with the Golden Arm (BD).

Chalkys (through Amazon.ca) has shipped The Saint (colour episodes), The Cybernaut Trilogy, a few British movies unavailable over here, and the Zoo Gang.

The one I'm concerned the most is US seller MovieMars to send me my order of Man in a Suitcase Complete BD series, as I've had a couple of recent orders from them that said were shipped and then they refunded me shortly afterwards to say there was an "accounting error" (which they later clarified as being out of stock, so their online inventory is not accurate). They were the only seller with it, so I gulped and pulled the trigger.

EDIT: I just received a Rarewaves shipping notification of everything but Man with a Golden Arm, which is listed as out of stock on their site. I guess I'm not getting that one! I'd better email them to confirm and receive a refund.

My situation is almost identical to yours. I have scrambled to pick up a few old British TV Shows coming to around $145 and I am in Canada as well. It's been a while since I've ordered from the UK and just recently discovered that Zavvi and Base.com no longer ship over to Canada. So the only places left seem to be Amazon UK (including any 3rd party sellers on Amazon such as Timewarp or Chalkys) and also Rarewaves. A limited number of sources that's foresure.

Are there any others that I am perhaps missing?

Yeah, I too found out that Zavvi UK no longer ships to us, so it sucks.

I only know of those sites as well; I wish there were more shipping options.

Does anybody else knows of other British sites that ship to Canada? We'd be grateful Canucks!

Don't miss out on this release. I feel it is one of Network's finest releases and incredibly for a small film that might be public domain? It's truly beautiful how much affection was lavished on this release, a transfer with amazing restoration and packaging that is gloriously imaginative and attractive. Oh and let's not forget that this tiny movie with one of Bela's best performances, is as entertaining a film as you can see.

Immediately come to mind MUST HAVES:

FILM

HELL DRIVERS (Blu)
THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN (Blu)
SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON (Blu)
SABOTAGE (Blu)

TV

DANGER MAN (DVD / Complete Series)

THE SAINT (DVD/both Monochrome & Color series)

MAN IN A SUITCASE (Blu / Complete Series)

DEPARTMENT S (Blu / Complete Series)

THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1950's/Complete Series / the best of the 50's ITC adventure series, but I'd also recommend THE BUCANNEERS from that lot).

INTERPOL CALLING (DVD / Complete Series / a real personal fave of mine, nice compact crime stories set all over Europe).

(I'm sure I'll be back to edit this post the more Must Haves I remember!).

That's why I was hoping somehow Network would get Thunderbirds; those deluxe sets Network did for the earlier shows looked great, but i was never really into any of the shows before Thunderbirds, so I didn't mind missing out on them.

There have always been those Network titles I kept for "next time" - yes, right, sure...

I finally ordered one of those, UFO, at Shop Anderson, rather not too expensively actually.

Still missing Space 1999 Series 2, but things do not look too good for that one (especially since I'm not ready to pay silly money for it).

Did you see they still have the complete Space 1999 boxset there which gives you all of S1, S2, TVMs and extras (10 copies left at time of writing). It’s cheaper than the Imprint version.

https://shop.gerryanderson.com/colle...region-b-2-pal

However, paid much less than this in recent Network sale.

There's a used copy (when last checked) at Oxfam for £50 (plus 3.95 delivery) should that be of interest:

The Anderson Shop price is too high, especially since this is still available at rarewaves... But Oxfam is the cheapest option - so far. Not sure if they are properly registered for IOSS though.

Add to all this the fact that I really do not like the second season all that much, and the look of the box even less...

Decisions, decisions...

EDIT : "Due to the implementation of cross-border VAT sales to the EU from the UK on July 1 2021, we're very sorry but we are currently unable to ship or sell any Second-hand, Sourced by Oxfam or Oxfam Unwrapped products to any EU addresses."
That one's out then.

I caved and ordered both Moore/Saint sets and the Space 1999 UE. Cancelled some other pre-orders to cover it.

I've just realised that completely forgot to add these 3 to the list I made:

Armchair Thriller (TV Series) (DVD) - Another Armchair Theatre spin-off.
The Edgar Wallace Mysteries - a series of B-movies based on Edgar Wallace stories. Either get the boxset that contains all the films or get each one (there are 47 in total) individually. There is also a German BD set of the films but NOT all of them are English friendly so you'd need DVDs of the German ONLY ones.

& although it is not a Network release, I also recommend getting this BFI release (contains ALL surviving material of the series) which is the ONLY Armchair Theatre spin-off that doesn't contain "Armchair" in the title:
