This is getting a release. Will contain everything Network release & more that they didn't. Think this is the first previously released by Network title to be re-released since their demise.

Thought the first re-release was Space Patrol.

Correct.

Anderson Shop bought all rights to Space Patrol which was 100% owned by Network including the discs.

Also see Anderson Shop have pressed more copies of the “ Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted” documentary on both BD and DVD which they jointly produced with Network. Presume they own the copyright as they made it.

That's not a real show, is it?

They’re also reissuing “Stand By For Action! Gerry Anderson in Concert”, although that still has Network copies on sale at Amazon.

Looks like some acid was dropped, but I suppose all kid's shows can look like that if you didn't grow up watching them.

Remember my mum telling me it scarred the shit out of me as a child. That hare does look like it’s possessed. Much preferred the shows on the BBC from that era.

Do you think some titles might reappear online? I completely missed out on Sabotage and it seems to be sold out everywhere.

H.R. Pufnstuf - "Moonwalk" - YouTube
And that clip pretty much sums up H.R. Pufnstuff (no, can't be arsed checking the spelling) Strange conceit and borderline surreal execution made by people with obvious imagination and talent yet so constrained by the restrictions and production line nature of 70s US TV that its actually pretty dull and conservative.

Funnily enough, Sabotage was the only Network Hitchcock I needed and I ordered it the day they went under as I suspected they might be among the first to go. As far as I can tell, every single Network Hitchcock is now unavailable everywhere. Whether that's due to a rush or due to scalpers, I don't know. I bet there are hundreds still warehoused though, they couldn't GIVE them away when they were still active. Perhaps an indication that Network devalued their catalogue with the intense discounting and regular clearances.

they were my only hope of seeing Into the Labyrinth in HD... too bad

given the amount of british tv shows that have fans around the world, you'd expect there'd be a label specialized in british tv, but there isnt, now imprint and umbrella are the ones which release more british shows, and they're aussies!

Thanx for all your help with Supercar! My wife and I are just finishing Season 1. More fun than I expected. I assumed this might satisfy a bit of my Nostalgia circuits, but it's actually a lot of fun as it's own entity.

The stories are surprisingly solid and almost adult, and for the most part, involve really decent Science. As a kid (I was around 8 when this debuted) I loved stuff like this that had an air of real science. The old DC Comics like The Flash felt that way too. Those Stores were written by actual Science Fiction Writers like John Broome, and Flash had "Flash Facts" in some early issues, where DC would enlighten us youngsters to Science Facts about Speed: Fastest Animals, Speed of Light, stuff like that. And these Supercar tales are real decent stories with mostly solid Science.

I was a little disappointed that both Seasons were in Black & White. For some reason I thought Season 2 was color. Not that it woulda mattered, because I originally saw them on my family's B&W monster. I might have to pick-up Fireball XL5 now, for the Color... and the awesome Theme Song. (I used to love to sing that in Bands I was in during the 70s-80s. We did a rockin' Tom Petty-ish version, long before I knew XTC covered it.

The subtitles are funny sometimes. About half of the subs for the Theme Song's lyrics (so far) say "It's Mercury Men," as opposed to "It's Mercury-Manned," meaning ol' Mike flew it. And as a kid, I thought "Mercury" was a cool name since it was the name of America's first Man-In-Space program, "Project Mercury."

The woman's voice for Jimmy is a little weird sometimes... but my fave weirdness is the way the Theme Song's Singer pronounces, "Supercar." It's so operatic and sounds more like he's signing "Soup-er-Caw." Similar to the operatic, Mighty Mouse. Still makes me laugh.

Thanx again<

You do know Fireball XL5 is black and white as well.
Here’s the originals.

A number of episodes were colourised in recent years but only a selection.
This has one episode colourised
Has 3 colourised including the one from the above release

Anderson didn’t move to colour until his next show Stingray.

There's still no definitive explanation as to why Network collapsed. The line that gets parroted out on here. The usual Tim Beddows line. Beddows was Network and Network was Tim Beddows.

All that is known. The company went into liquidation. I do find this odd, but not necessarily overly odd. But the company WAS looking toward the future and many new potential projects and releases.

I was never personally convinced 100% by the Beddows tagline on here. Much gets said, and sometimes rumours and some hearsay gets tangled up or misquoted.

It's true to say that Network did undervalue their product in terms of too many half price sales. People love a good bargain, but that comes with a price. Over the years Network had quite a few sales, and even recent releases got slashed. Either the company was being mismanaged or it's niche market was just too niche in a shrinking physical media pool. Network's passing is testament to other boutique labels that it often may look rosey on outside, but sometimes things aren't quite the same on the inside.

It's really not strange for a company to go out of business when one of the principals dies - a death will usually result in debts being passed on to someone else and whoever that may have been simply may have just wanted to pull the eject lever and cashed out what assets were left. Doesn't mean Network did anything wrong, that the model was bad, or it was run poorly, just that it's time came and went with the principal person whose passion and devotion led the whole thing. Unfortunate but most things don't last forever!

Twilight Time, Code Red, Scorpion all went defunct after a death.
