Nice tip, thank you. I’ve jumped on that one!

Intriguing. So far this is the only retailer I can see selling this.

Edit: I can see now that this is the official inner packaging, so possibly Network's liquidators have released stock without the limited card slipcase: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=32364

Out is now on Blu-Ray on e-bay. Looking at the seller's other listings, it could be the same retailer (lots of Prisoner themed items).

I didn't learn about Network's fate until very recently. Finally wanted to watch Robin of Sherwood after hearing about it over the years. Was shocked when I visited the website.

Prices had skyrocketed to crazy amounts on Amazon and eBay (this was a few weeks ago). I managed to pick up a used copy of the DVD set on eBay for an ok price (though still much more than I'd like to spend on DVD) given the BD was out of reach. I thought maybe it would be the SD version of the remaster used for the later Blu-ray release. But I think it is just a re-package of all the seasons because it has some of the worst encoding I have ever seen! Macroblocking galore.

Amazon recently showed a recommendation for the BD set and the price was going for £30 for a new one. I snapped it up immediately! Having received it recently, the encoding unfortunately as I found is still whack. What a shame because I'm really enjoying the show. Still better than the DVD I guess.

I wonder what will happen to the licenses of all these shows. Some quality stuff.

I wonder what happened to the stock of The Baron and whether it was destroyed or will ever see a release.

Never even manufactured according to what's been said elsewhere.

Space Precinct is still available from HMV if anyone is interested.

I know it was recently upscaled and made available on ITVX and BritBox, but going by the samples on YouTube looks like wax works. Could just be compression though.

2 more releases which were becoming scarce and now have lots of stock for sale at RRP:

Space: 1999: The Ultimate Collection (Blu-ray)

Danger Man: The Complete Collection (DVD)

I bought the Danger Man set used a few weeks back and wish I'd waited. Unlike many other collections I believe this has all episodes, including the early half hour episodes with an early appearance from Donald Pleasance. He plays two different characters in series 1 which is a little confusing, and gives a wonderful performance in each. Mastering is excellent for a DVD, very crisp and better than a lot of Network stuff I've watched (not seen later episodes yet).

I strongly suspect your appraisal of the upscaled result is correct!

Is this seller legit, as placed my order as soon as I saw your post, but now almost a week later it still hasn't been dispatched.

Has anyone received their copies or know what is going on.

Will give them another week before making a PayPal claim, as they look a very dodgy seller.

There's nothing I can find to indicate they are not legit but I have never ordered from them. They are clearly a very small outfit, which often means they take time to deal with orders.

I would suggest you contact them and if you don't any joy then cancel your order.

I have the set too, and think the PQ of the blu-ray is decent enough, especially since it came out over ten years ago now. The image is quite soft but it fits the style of the show, there is also a lot of smoke from fires etc, to make it more authentic.

I think it is quite reasonably priced at Rarewaves at the moment.

I wouldn't recommend "The Quiller Memorandum " in the present price drops. The PQ is pretty terrible in some parts.

The Hitchcock films are available decent price Rarewaves.

While I've got Network on my mind, the Blu-Ray of 'The Man Who Haunted Himself' is amazing if you can find a copy.

And one of the best DVDs I bought from Network was 'The Clifton House Mystery', a really spooky HTV drama with Peter Sallis which I think may have been aimed at children but is very effective nonetheless. That was climbing up in value but you can currently pick it up for about £8 from RareWaves

They did do a proper blu-ray case version eventually, after initially doubling it with a DVD, in a DVD case.

I've been tempted by Space: 1999 but have been put off by it using one of those awful tubs that stacks discs on top of each other, I assume that there was no better packaged version of that set?

The Danger Man set suffers from that problem. On some spindles there are multiple discs. Definitely not ideal.

I've not picked up the Space 1999 set but suspect it will be similar given the amount of content.
