1) We have more blockbusters coming out; 2) We have far bigger blockbusters coming out; 3) Blu-ray sales sustain infinitely longer than HD-DVD... these blockbusters will keep kicking them in the balls every week while their hits fade instantly. I don't even have to mention the PS3 effect which might be the biggest factor of them all. BD needs to make a run at 70% YTD and 65% Incept-to-date. 4Q might be able to generate the volume to move the dial. |

The biggest thing about the latest BD win is that it prevents HD-DVD from getting lots of positive press about finally winning a week. If HD-DVD had won and the mainstream media ran a wire service article about how HD-DVD won, it could have given the perception to the general public that it was starting to win.
One thing that should give us pause though is that there were probably a lot more people buying HD-DVD last week. By that I mean there were over 100K unique Transformers buyers. With so many people buying multiple Blu-rays last week, the actual number of unique buyers was probably less than half that and conceivably a quarter of the HD-DVD number. |

Neither of these weeks are of concern at all - it's Blu-ray from here on out. |

Wow, that Lee Stewart guy really is some pathetic loser!
According to him it took Blu-Ray 6 times the Hardware and BOGOF deals to win by 1% margin... Then again, it took HD DVD paying off a studio to get Transformers exclusively, nearly FREE players and FREE movies to lose, AGAIN ![]() |
