I understand people not liking the casual approach to finalizing a standard fo Blu-ray but the rationale in supporting a weaker format and the continual blitz on the superior one is mind blowing. i kind of relate it to people who defend microsoft after they have gone through 11 xboxen because of the simple fact "xbox has better (more) games"... well duh, it's been out a year longer... people were saying the same thing when it first came out. HD-DVD is no less confusing. 1 year head start and still pissing blood and yet people are stupid enough (all these so called, self proclaimed techno geeks non the less) to still say, "WE WILL WIN, JUST YOU WAIT!!!"

preaching to the choir... and beating a dead horse... whatever...

Though I'd love to have many more, i've got to prioritize.
Yah, it's an expensive hobby isn't it? ;-)
But aren't they all?

I'll probably just be getting FF:RotSS, and Halloween for next week, but there are so many others!

the one that pissed me off was on page 14 where they give 3/4 of a page basically to a guy saying how everyone should back HD-DVD and that Warner should go HD-DVD exclusive because that would end the war and touts HD-DVD interactivity.

yeah, but i should include that i'm getting R&C and Drake's Fortuen too, UT3 if it doesn't get delayed, which is supporting blu-ray too, cause we have more products to offer than movies from only 3 studios.

I'll be picking up FF2 next week on Blu-Ray and DVD (for the kids-van trips!).

Was hoping that someone would have it realy release today, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

It's impressive the 300 BD is still selling so well. Not only that, but it sold more than 2:1 against the HD DVD version.

BD: 98.63
HD DVD: 49.10

Planet Earth is finally selling better on Blu-ray than HD-DVD... about time, I figured just about every HD-DVD person that has a player had bought it.

I'm dissapointed, it would have been higher had people actually been able to buy half the Warner titles at retail. Smallville Blu certainly would have beaten HD instead of not even showing up

Generally a decent week. Two negatives: We are Marshall on HD DVD BEAT Blu-ray. That's surprising. Perhaps the early reviews of less than stellar PQ (e.g 3.5 from HDD) caused people to give it a pass.

And I guess Smallville's availability issue hurt.

We are Marshal also had availability problems. I think the numbers are out of whack because of the availability problems.

It's a combo disc...I think that's to be expected on a lower level movie. Now the Condemned selling so well....that is great!

As far as We Are Marshall is concerned, one thing you guys should note as we get into the heavy 4Q release schedule for Blu-ray is that it might not be uncommon for certain dual format releases to be close in sales the first week. As it stands, BD owners have a lot more choices. As usual though, in the longer run, the BD version will prevail.

I do think this week that there were some issues with availability.

I find it soo funny that hd dvd fanboys keep saying that the sales are sooo close so it is a stalemate? How the hell is 63:37 close?

Question

IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!

as you can see, the Blu-ray version of 'Planet Earth' is leading in the topsellers list against the HD DVD Version , since weeks.

couldnt it be possible planet earth blu-ray allready catched up with the HD DVD version?

IF so, then there would be no Warner title on HD DVD (except the exclusives oc) wich sold more discs than any blu-ray version.
