I think WB will have corrected these distribution issues by then, too critical of a time, and too much money to be made to have delays...

It will be up come christmas... with the upcoming $399 40G PS3 and good supply of them to boot, many kids will be gettin' nice packages under the tree... with a few BDs hopefully to show off on dad's new HDTVs

Never underestimate how much of a mess the stuidos can make things.

I've been a game/dvd buyer for a Blockbuster franchise for 7 years.....it seems to me they are not run by a bunch of wiz kids to be honest. They have blunders every now and than......my favorite was trying to release a Christmas title in Spring ( /slap Sony)

Honestly Warner has had distribution issues like this before. It seems they are more prone to it. Once they get behind....it's really hard to catch up. That's why my rep said he hopes they fix this problem before the big titles release.

I don't think specs have been released, but I think TS is coming before year's end. I remember seeing it in the news section here at Blu-ray.com

That's for T2; the T3 now on HD-DVD is from Warner

Ahhh, well, I didn't care too much for T3 anyways. I was hoping "TS" was something else.

Looks like in USA, the PS3 is doing very poorly. The XBOX is way ahead, and the Wii is almost off the chart. But in the whole world... the PS3 and the XBOX are LITERALLY hand in hand! They are following the exact same path while the Wii is, once again, almost off the chart.
I really wish the US consumer would pick up more PS3s, but the only way that will happen is if the price drops another $100!

Yes, sorry for the confusion. If you knew how many times per day I type TS, you'd understand why my fingers naturally go there.

It's disappointing that Blu-ray still isn't ouselling HD-DVD by a great margin.

Considering the Warner titles I wouldn't say, that Blu-ray is far ahead of HD-DVD. No matter what excuse there might be, Blu-ray should at least be outselling the HD-DVD version by 2:1 or 3:1 considering the hardware base.

But 63:37 is okay

Blu Ray OWNS the top of the charts. If there was one good release with not much else to buy Blu Ray would (and has) led by 2:1, but BR had what, the top 3-4 slots with HD DVD not even close.

63:37 is four points close to 67:33, which is what 2:1 is.

I would've liked to send my own Letter To The Editor to counter D'Oliviero's mail but then I don't want HMR to be dragged into the mud.

What BD supporters should know and what HD-DVD supporters are dying to ignore is that there's only 33 days left for MANDATORY Profile 1.1 support for new BD players. (CEs can release Profile 1.1 now if they want to but so far none has come forward. Maybe in October. ) So once we've passed that gate, then all their talking points about a mature format are going to be moot. And it's not like BD can't add two more layers.

I posted this earlier but it appears the board maintenance apparently ate it.

Either the numbers for Troy or the numbers for 300 are messed up.

Given the overall value of Troy vs. 300, HD-DVD Troy should be #10 with 30.94, and #5 on HD-DVD with 50.04.

I bet the $399 PS3 will play a role in coming weeks.

And,.. The big FW update will get a lot of PS3 owners re-charged. I know it will for me. I think it's coming Nov17 or perhaps before that.

I think eventually PS3 owners will start buying a few more Blu Rays (once they discover how fun they are) and then it's all over. No one will be able to debate the influence of PS3 on the whole format war in general when that happens.

Yes, but you also might want to notice that all the new players for this year are being released in October, BEFORE the Oct 31st deadline passes (which I don't doubt is a deliberate move by the CE manufacturers to avoid the requirement; Even Sony's next player is being released Oct 31st so won't need 1.1 compliance) . The next round of players after that aren't coming until next year, so Blu-Ray still won't be a "mature format" until sometime in 2008 unless someone releases a firmware update before then to make the player Profile 1.1 capable.
