See you next week
Glad you broke it down like that, makes things a lot clearer for all.

I really thought that the numbers would get closer to 50/50 this summer just because of a lack of Blu-ray exclusive titles. I did not consider the $12.50 sale at Fry's, the 5 free movie deal with a new player, and the fact that Universal is sticking it to their customers with subpar releases (PQ/SQ).

My friend finally got sick of me praising Blu-ray and he purchased the new Sony player. He ordered the 5 free movies and he purchased many others at the Fry's sale. He is up to like 12 movies this week alone. By the way, he is loving his new Blu-ray investment.

I stand corrected.

Oh gosh, I missed that thread over at AVS. Funniest thing I've read in a very long time. Though it was right for them to lock the thread.

I see Disney felt they needed to re-emphasize a certain point

Disney Blu-ray
Better than Perfect

I smile every time I see that shot at HD DVD's slogan.

Damn, I was 9 minutes late. Still I think it deserves its own topic and an image seperate from the nextbook flash for people to spread around.

From the looks of the recent non-U.S. Blu announcements and releases, it looks as if we're going to get an onslaught of announcements here to clamp the screws down on HD-DVD. If they can't beat us when they have 12 additional exclusive releases to our two non-exclusive releases, what's it gonna be like when stuff like Spiderman 3 is thrown in to the mix

another week, another blu-ray win. I'm interested in hearing rdjam's newest theory, probably will make less sense than his last.

Disc sales

Ghost Rider - 100
POTC - Dead Man's Chest - 90.46
Planet Earth (Blu-ray) - 82.35
The Patriot - 82.30
POTC - Curse of the Black Pearl - 80.00
Apocalypto - 75.26
Casino Royale - 75.05
Bridge to Terabithia - 73.83
Blood Diamond (HD DVD) - 70.10
Planet Earth (HD DVD) - 56.94

PE on BD takes the lead. Top 8 are BD.
Overall, when the new releases disappear, it still means BD dominance, but with the sales all spread out.

Uh oh, PE-BD outsold PE-HD DVD, what does HD DVD have left to brag about.

Blu-ray whipped HD DVD handily considering all those extra HD DVD titles.

When will rdjam learn. I bet in ten years he'll have his own website for remembering HD DVD. Actually, make that two years, maybe one.

People seem to have finally figured out HD DVD version of Planet Earth doesn't play on their DVD players, even if they have an HDTV.

enjoy
