Shrike. We don't know yet. We know that Sony said 130,000 spidey 3. But that's all we know. We're all waiting for final numbers and hoping those numbers spell out the standalone disc and the trilogy combo pack of joy.
Oh, wait. The Shrike. Is that Dan Simmons's shrike? Last edited by bluperch; 11-09-2007 at 07:39 PM. |

actually your theory proves it's 130,000 just for SM3. Here's why. Since the based amount is on the #1 selling title. So, 300 is only 10.38% of SM3 but if they were both combined there's no way it would be 10.38% but more like 3%. make sense? |

Which would be more in line with what we should expect from 300 at this point, don't you think? What's disappointing though is that we haven't gotten a firm clarification one way or the other yet.

Ok, I'll do my best. Sony released a preliminary number of 130,000 copies of SM3 sold. Now there are some who think that's SM3 stand alone combined with the trilogy. Myself, I believe WickyWoo in that it's the number of SM3 stand-alone. Since the #1 movie of the week is used as the "100" baseline you can say SM3 sold 130,000 therefore the #2 movie is 71.95% of that as that is what Nielsen lists and so on down the list. So we'd have: 1. SM3 130,000 copies 2. SM Trilogy 130,000 * .7195 = 93,535 copies 3. Transformers 130,000 * .3142 = 40,846 copies 4. Meet the Robinsons 130,000 * .0882 = 11,466 copies 5. 300 130,000 * .0656 = 8528 copies 6. FF2 130,000 * .0503 = 6539 copies 7. License to Wed * .0424 = 5512 copies 8. The Shining *.0411 = 5343 copies 9. Mr Brooks *.0403 = 5239 copies 10. 2001 *.0388 = 5044 copies The numbers above also is another reason I think the 130,000 is just SM3 because look at how the other titles relate numerically. Anyway, hope that answers your question. |

If spidey at 100% = 130,000 then 300 (BD + HD) at 10.38% = 13,500 Then assuming that 300 sales did not diminish 2 weeks afterward then 300 (BD + HD) 5.43% = roughly 13,500 Then transformers at 100% = 248,618 Unit sales of transformers.... Nielsen proved that was NOT the case... it was 115,000 accoding to nielsens which happens to be half or so of the 248,000 calculated.... leading more credence to what I am saying.... Unless 300 BD for some odd reason sold double the units, then we either accept Paramounts Claim that they sold 190,000 or accept that the 130,00 is combined....... but something weird is wrong about the numbers...... I want to believe it, but I don't want to look stupid to an HD fanboy especially when the data isn't backing up what we are saying |

Anyway, I guess my point is that 300 was purchased with both Spidey and the new PS3 is what I am "assuming". Here's another thing based on the 130,000 for SM3 alone. They list top 5 for both blu and HD DVD. In blue, #4 is 300, in HD DVD #4 is also 300. In the blu chart they compare it to SM3 at .0656 (6.56%) of sales so, 8528 copies. In the HD chart they compare it Transformers, if we use the earlier transformer # of 40,846 * .1219 (12.19% of Transformers) that comes to 4979 copies on HD DVD. Which would put it under the #10 overall High Def seller of 2001, which we already assumed was at 5044. Hopefully I haven't confused anyone, but those numbers all add up right and is why we don't see 300 on HD DVD in the top 10 overall. Last edited by bdrex28; 11-09-2007 at 08:08 PM. |

Nielsen said Transformers sold 115,000...... WE ALL ACCEPT THAT well then Week of transformers 1. Transformers 115,000 copies 2. Pirates 2 115,000 * .0947 = 10,890 copies 3. Pirates 1 115,000 * .0912 = 10,488 copies 4. FF4-2 115,000 * .0547 = 6290 copies 5. Apocalypto 115,000 * .0502 = 5773 copies 6. Deja Vu 115,000 * .0371 = 4266 copies 7. Prestige 115,000 * .0360 = 4140 copies 8. Wild Hogs 115,000 *.0353 = 4059 copies 9. Reaping 115,000 *.0342 = 3933 copies 10. 300 115,000 *.0337 = 3875 copies So you mean to tell me 300 more then doubled their sales 2 weeks later the week of transformers???? And fantastic 4 actually increased their sales???? from a 3rd week to a 5th week?? We got more sales of Meet the Robinsons on a second Week then we did of Pirates on a BOGO?????? I an a die hard Blu Fan with over 50 movies......... but please..... Doesn't anyone else see this???? |

Yes, definitely. Personally I accept nothing until Paidgeek calls it one way or the other. He's the only one in a position to validate this SM3 != boxed set theory.

I'm not saying your wrong or right. I'd like to wait for some real numbers/answers first; however, I will say this: 300 was not included in the BOGO during the Transformers week so it is 'probable' to assume that people focused their buying intentions on those movies that were a 'deal'. That is all I will add at this time. ![]() Edit: I wanted to add that I do trust WickyWoo and Bill Hunt over at DigitalBits. They both seem to be pretty level headed and connected (I sometimes suspect WickyWoo _is_ Bill Hunt actually). If they say it is so... it probably is. Only thing I disagree ever with Wicky on is the DVD9 being 'enough for gaming'. :P Last edited by Proteus; 11-09-2007 at 08:24 PM. |

But it's true, paid or penton could confirm the number. Wickywoo already gave the information he had and he said the 130,000 was SM3 only. |
