Guys, I told ya that the 90.000 HD DVDs @ $98 were underestimated.
some of them buyers must have grabbed a few discs on the way out.

Remember:
- Wall Mart not only had a full day (more like 2-3 days in reality, over the week end) with HD A2's at $98, but Also a bunch of titles at $14.95 (pretty much a BOGO, it was a 50% off).

- Best Buy decided to match, and to still offer 2 discs (scanned) on top of the 5 mail in.

- Best Buy offered that cheapo deal online, and had so little A2;s in stock that it had to honor orders with A3's at a loss.

And with all that, a 65:35. I'd cry my eyes out if I were a HD DVD fan

If they think 3 hours of sales on Black Friday are going to offset anything at this point they are delusional.

if blu-ray won 2:1 and ratatouille only did 70k, then hd dvd had a pretty abismal week too, so this theory that hd dvd had a great week and thats what screwed with the numbers really doesn't make sense.

wal mart doesn't count in the nielsens, so a bunch of those won't count, that is if ppl actually picked up hd dvds.

I was unaware of that. I guess it doesn't matter though, those were done the spiderman week and didn't help at all for them.

Thats what happens when people have expectations that are too high, while on the other side, they are so invested in their format, they'll jump at any chink of light.

The way things ebb and flow, we could get a 75-35 week out of the blue, that's how it seems to be going.

Those sales happened the week Spider-Man came out, not last Friday, so they would have had to sell a crap load of movies on Sunday.

65:35 is good, but I really expected it to be higher.

Rat killed everything in sales though.
