See, this is why we need a sticky we can use week over week. Posted all of this weeks (5/20) charts etc here:

Umm, moderators, do how can I go about renaming this thread to "Nielsen/VideoScan Weekly Sales Numbers" or something of that nature? I just think it might be a good thing to consolidate the thread at the very least if not make it a sticky. Who knows, maybe we can get Merlins to pimp the thread with his statistical graphs.

As I noted last week I don't really trust these numbers. With the exception of the first few weeks this year Blu-ray has outsold HD-DUD every week, however year to date HD-DVD is gaining on Blu-ray almost every week
last week (13 May) 68% Blu-ray 32% HD-DVD
now 67% to 33% HD-DUD should have 89% year to date by the end of the year (even though week by week Blu-ray has outsold it) something is up.

theres nothing wrong with the numbers. think about it if blu-ray is leading 68:32 YTD and a week goes by where it is 58:42, that means that blu-ray didn't sell as well against hd dvd as it did the week before, thus the YTD numbers would go down. another question, are these just US numbers or worldwide?

Just US (perhaps North America).

I agree. But, there was some debate it seemed. So, this hopefully forces the issue.

Combine this thread into a one topic sticky would be a good idea.

Top 10 list

Looks like Apocalypto beat the Matrix significantly too:

Apocalypto: 73.73
The Matrix: 33.28 + 25.88 = 59.16

It's good to see BD holding it's ground. Haven't swayed much in the past couple months. For my taste August is shaping up very well, but come september there will be far too many good ps3 games for my budget to allow many BD movies... =)
My last Purchase: Apocalypto
Looking forward to: Ninja Gaiden July 3rd!

Awesome news, and I think it will get better as Fox joins back in the mix. And Warner, for cryin out loud release your blockbusters on Blu-ray already and lets get this format war over with.

Nice to see Blu-ray in the top 3 though.

Looks good.

Although 70 would look better than 69. Yeah, I'm greedy.
