I think most of those $99 players were purchased by people who already had one or two other HD DVD players. I guess maybe their next excuse will be well, wait until February, then March, then...

PE on BD outsold the HD DVD 56:44
Wow!!! I wonder why the drastic change? Isn't because there were lots of people returning PE HD DVD perhaps??? What happened to all the new HD DVD owners buying PE HD DVD for a demo title?

I wish they had Wal-Mart in these numbers. My Wal-Mart's Blu section looked like a tornado went through it today. While the HD-DVD section had tumbleweeds blowing through....

I went to look for one of these early releases people are coming upon.

Talk about major denial. Read it and giggle.

Actually quite sad that they still believe. Should we also tell them that Santa doesn't really exist as well?

Hahah.

I guess they have not looked at the HD DVD schedule for January.

Right... The new releases (especially bourne) & HD bogos didn't have anything to do with it?

I guess we'll just have to watch everyone's eyes pop when they see next weeks numbers.

I work retail part-time, and I've noticed lots of the HD-DVD players get returned becasue they freeze up, or simply don't turn on after a movie. We're already on a second floor model cause the first simply broke.

Anyways, my point, with problems like that HD-DVD can brag all they want about menu's and ethernet capabilities, but they won't get anywhere with players getting returned.

The good thing is we get no more than 2 HD-DVD players a week, we don't sell alot of them, and about 8 Blu players a week, but we sell about 1 to 3 per day and have to end up ordering them for customers. I work for a small retailer.

I don't know where this "three weeks in a row" comes from. Look at the first post in this thread:
Nielsen/VideoScan Numbers ending December 16th
WE: BD-61% HDD-39% YTD: BD-65% HDD-35% SI: BD-62% HDD-38%

Nielsen/VideoScan Numbers ending December 9th
WE: BD-76% HDD-24% YTD: BD-65% HDD-35% SI: BD-62% HDD-38%

Nielsen/VideoScan Numbers ending December 2nd
WE: BD-58% HDD-42% YTD: BD-65% HDD-35% SI: BD-62% HDD-38%

The numbers coming out tomorrow are for 12/23, not 12/30 - no? The last HMM was dated the 30th, reporting for the 16th. And that was 61-39. We may "hear" the figures coming out tomorrow are also 61-39, for the week ending the 30th, and we may "hear" that the figures to be reported in the future will also be 61-39.

But as of right now, there is only one week at 61-39 that we know. Until things are published, we can't reliably claim 2 weeks at 61-39 in a row, much less 3.

We're doing good, guys. HD DVD goes away this year, and it's already becoming clear to a large majority of people who are actually taking notice.

Who will doubt this is the case a month from now?

Who will admit to being an HD DVD fan a year from now?

Who will remember Amir 2 years from now?

Life is good. Life is Blu.

I did giggle C'mon even the Dolphins won 1 game. Out of 52 "games", they won 0...though they claim they are getting better lol.

I think it means weeks ending Dec 16, 23 and 30.

Remember HMM is a ways behind in reporting the numbers.

Looks like my second perfect pick. (I guess the numbers right twice now but just because I got lucky.)

Next week is going to be harsh for the DUDs. Blu will get over 80 and the DUDs are going to be hurting.

HMM is a week behind remember they skipped a week. DV has announced 61:39 three weeks in a row.

So you will see 61:39 this week end and 61:39 next week end in HMM.

Given the assumption that the numbers could range from, let's say, 45-55 to 70-30 for the past three weeks - the probability of 61-39 falling out three times in a row is..... hmm....

1 in 15,625

Wow...

Did anybody make a right guess here or over at HDD ?

it's funny just thinking about the scenario's...

they strive to get 50% on any given week..

we strive to get 80% on any given week...

both of these are a step up from current conditions...and milestones, if you will...

which is hilarious...

I made the right guess over at Av$ but I just thought last weeks numbers sounded good.

Anyway,.. time for the new slogan...

HD DUD the look and sound of "NEXT WEEK".

(If that's not clear,.. I'm refering to the HD DUD faithful that proclaim Next Week each and every week. Sooner or later,.. someone is going to manage to tell them they lost but they are not quick on the take you know.)
