I think the biggest problem DV has is that he gets so much info from the HD DVD side while a lot of people from our side of the fence are hesitant to talk to him after his antics over here earlier in the year. He doesn't vet the info that passes through his office, well not enough anyway so some of the info that he posts will be wrong especially when it comes to Blu-ray, when talking about HD DVD, DV is probably one of the best sources for HD DVD atm, well at least when he isn't trashing Blu-ray.

When I talk about HD DVD, I double, triple check my sources to make sure I won't be wrong because it will make my company look bad to the few people who do know my employment status.

Even if WB goes for HD-DVD or Blu-ray, the format war will drag on for another year. Look how long Universal keep HD-DVD afloat by itself.

Blade Runner this week was 1.36:1 for Blu (57.8:42.2)

Well...maybe. Blade Runner on Blu *should* have shown up in the top 10 based on overall sales and HD-DVD sales, but didn't.

That wasn't really the case

Uni was their only -exclusive-, but Warner also had a few HD DVD exclusives among which The Matrix, Batman Begins and V (which made a lot of red ants think that Warner had a secret HD DVD desire).
With that, Paramount (along with Warner) was neutral and releasing on HD DVD.
So the layout looked of the majors (at the time) was more like

Blu:
Sony
Disney
Fox (who had a weak support at first, much better now)
Warner
Paramount

HD DVD:
Universal
Paramount
Warner

The Paramount switch (and the supposed Warner Red preference) made a lot of people think that we were headed to a standstill at a 50-50 market share. Didn't quite happen that way (except for -one- week, closest of the year, with TF / 51-49).
So yeah, when everything is put in the balance, Blu Ray is actually rising strongly, specially since the TF release.

Now I can get some sleep before I go to work this afternoon. Another week for Blu. Lets all stand and give Blu-Ray a round of applause. 52 weeks......WOW!!! you cant even call this a competition anymore. This shit is just unfair......but in a good way.
