Looks like Hot Fuzz and Bourne Identity were able to pull a 2.5:1 advantage setup by 300 down to 2:1

apparently HD DVD is offering an even bigger bundle if you purchase the elite 360 with the HD DVD add-on....

you get King Kong as well as 300 with the 5 free movies...

also the LG dual-format player will be 999.99 instead of 1049.99

more crap...

So how many HD DVDs of 300 have sold?

It must be getting close to 50% of HD DVD viewers having bought one. It just has to be around or higher than 40%.

About 100K, so 1/3 of HD DVD. Perhaps half if you realize a lot of 2G units were sold to 1G owners.

Lots of room for more Blu-ray sales. HD DVD is pretty saturated.

Week 1: 65/35
Week 2: 71/29

Gary

Well about 400,000 Blu-ray playe... (I mean PS3's) are being sold every month now so there should be a few more d00d's out there every week wanting to pick up 300 in Blu.

Wow. HD DVD is going to be absolutely crushed for that week. That's interesting considering it then should do well the week after:

HD DVD:
Blades of Glory (Paramount)
Dawn of the Dead (2004) (Universal)
Heroes: Season One (Universal)
The Hurricane (2000) (Universal)
Notting Hill (Universal)

Blu-ray:
Blades of Glory (Paramount)

That is going to be an amazing swing. Probably 75/25 to 60/40.

Future watch on Amazon.com

300:

Blu-ray: #14
HD DVD: #26

Heroes:

Top 7 Blu-rays all currently selling better than Heroes (#247), and that includes The Fifth Element, Pirates 3, The Complete Blade Runner, and even the INSANELY priced (more expensive) Spiderman Trilogy.

Really, Heroes should be doing a lot better, shouldn't it?

I seriously doubt it to be honest

It'll do well first 2-3 weeks, then crash away. It's too expensive. A $20 markup is really the most you can justify.

Lost is going to totally crash after week 1 due to the over double SRP

But, notice how Planet Earth (BBC) manages to stay in the running four months after release. And with self-competition no less.

Casino Royale shows up in top 10 FIVE months after release.
