For official Numbers, Planet Earth on HD-DVD was at 7.45.

95.72:7.45 = 92:8 or 12.8:1.

Yeah. And TF and Bourne made it back into the Top 10.

I refuse to panic.

Top 10
1. 3:10 to Yuma 100.00
2. Planet Earth 95.72
3. PotC At World's End 95.68
4. Saw IV 88.39
5. Transformers 88.24
6. 300 87.09
7. Bourne Supremacy 84.00
8. The Game Plan 83.90
9. The Invasion 76.78
10. Ratatouille 69.25

xx Shooter 54.28
xx Bourne Identity 52.78
xx Serenity 46.72
xx Invasion 13.54
xx 300 12.30
xx Planet Earth 7.45

Note The Invasion sold a fair amount on HD DVD even though it's not officially out. So a lot of retailers broke the release date.

Considering the DUD BOGO and the weak slate of releases for Blu-Ray... 74 isn't too bad. The releases are much stronger for this week and next so we should see 80's again for those two and then back to the 70's the following two weeks (American Gangsters & Beowulf).

This week Best Buy had Blu-ray for $14.99 in most stores. I expect the numbers to be well over 80% in next Friday's Nielsen's.

We probably won’t break the 80’s again until all of the Universal and BOGO titles have been liquidated or the prices go back up to normal. It may be awhile.

I'm not smart enough to figure out what all this means but Ratatouille is #10 on both the top 10 & top 10 aggregate with very similar numbers.

I need pics please....

Given the cult like obession the DUD boys have, is it possible a number of them are actually re-purchasing titles for their collections - particularly with the BOGO deals?

Does anyone know what DUD's "since inception" numbers would look like without Transformers? Just curious.

IMHO

While it is sad to go below 80% I don't read to much into this.

For Blu-Ray buyers (eg us), there is no rush, we can just buy when our finances allow, when the films we want arrive, because we know the content will still be there in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years etc. It is only going to get better. (Just look at Warner's upcoming releases)

For those who won't be named (eg them), there is urgency in stocking up because many of them know their supply will soon be cut off, even if they won't admit it. Maybe panic buying is too strong a term, but it is close. There are also probably some buyers who don't realise they have got on the train that won't leave the station

Personally I predict that February will be turbulent with the numbers, with some more peculiar results, before Blu-Ray starts to power away in March.
