In 2007 Blu-ray achieved a market share of 74% or better 5 times (out of 52 weeks).

In 2008 Blu-ray has achieved 74% or better 4 times (out of 5 weeks).

Not too bad really. And if HMM rounded the numbers fairly then we would have seen a 75:25 result this week.

Why HMM devoted so much space to VMD is a mystery. Yes, India is a big market - for VCD & DVD. For HighDef? Not so much.

Enjoy your early retirement Mr. Solomon.

if there are people would care about HD DVD, considering that VMD equals or out perform HD DVD, then it easy to see people upgrading from the HD DVD experience to VMD but I think they should just make 1 move and that's to Blu-ray

yes...there is a Blu-ray article on the same page as the pie charts...(page 2 maybe?) and when you click the page number that the story continues on located at the bottom of the article, you will end up on the page that mentions Circuit City at the very bottom with other short blurbs...

I was having trouble finding that as well so thanks for the clarification. It's the part about their credit-line being upped to 1.3 billion (or something like that)?

Remind everyone- THis was the week with no big new releases, our month old catalog titles kicked their BOGO butt

Very sad

If that's the best they can do under those circumstances, you should be still laughing

And we are

Next week I was expecting numbers in the low 90s but the BB BOGO and Amazon sale ruined it for me

Must just be a slow sales week for HD DVD to catch back up with Transformers & Bourne Supremacy. Still, Planet Earth is a 13:1 ratio, 300 is a 7:1 ratio, The Invasion is 5.7:1. The HD DVD fire sales are lifting the format back up to mediocre status.

But there's a sale going on right now on around 150 titles.

Next week's numbers will be similar.
