a real B classic for me, I'll never forget the quote (from Detective Cameron) : "girls, I have one good news and one bad news ; good news is your boyfriends are here, bad news is they're dead" (wow!)

They're too busy releasing horror films that few people have heard of instead of releasing more known titles like NOTC and Monster Squad.

+1 my friend.

I love that guy. Also very cool in The Fog, another great movie.

It's one of the best horror B-movies out there from the '80s, and I will be getting my DVD in October.

This news in from the meet and greet at the Comi-con(NOT OFFICIAL)
Bloody-Disgusting stringer Tex (Tim Anderson) writes in from the San Diego Comic Con with some incredible and exciting news. Arriving on DVD this October from Sony Home Entertainment is Fred Dekker's Night of the Creeps, the classic 80's film that follows a college couple, in 1959, see an object plummet to Earth like a meteor. The boy accidentally swallows a space-slug that shoots out. In 1986, two freshmen roam the campus and stumble across the corpse of the boy who swallowed the space-slug. Once thawed out, the corpse comes to life. While it's already huge news that we're finally getting a DVD release of the film, Tex just finished chatting with Dekker at the San Diego Comic Con who breaks the news exclusively to B-D that "If the DVD sells really well, they are considering a sequel." Straight from the horses mouth. Now go by the effin DVD and let's get a sequel. Oh - and Dekker did mention something about a "Blu-ray" release. Holy crap, I'm gonna cry of happiness.

I want Dekker or Sony to come forward and explain why a BD release isn't day and date with the DVD. Will there be one at all? Quit jerking us around! Early reports last year mentioned a simultaneous Blu-ray release with the DVD. I waited years for this film to be out on DVD and now that it's coming out, I no longer buy DVDs (as most of you I'm sure) and might make an exception if there is no release planned on BD for the next two years. But no way am I double dipping, so if they're going to release it on Blu six months from now, it'd be nice to know. I hope more light will be shed on the subject once the DVD comes out...

No it was not. Anchor Bay has said it is a title "under consideration" and "in the stages of preparation". That doesn't mean it's coming this fall, and there certainly has been no official announcement...

As if I needed another reason to buy this day-one. Of course, I would only be interested in a sequel if they bring back Tom Atkins. They can also bring back Rusty Griswold while they're at it too.

Thanks for the info ccfixx. I feel better although kinda weak selling point for Sony to list the blu only features as the Sony blu club and the generic exclusive content option.
Doesnt matter to me since the Blu release is just the cherry on the cake I would have gotten this on DVD if it was the sole release
