20th Century Fox Night Watch (2004) / Day Watch (2006)

Quote:
Fox has confirmed that Day Watch and Night Watch will both street on Blu-ray Disc on 9/9 (you'll find the temp cover art here). Day Watch (SRP $39.98) will include audio commentary with director Timur Bekmambetov, The Making of Day Watch featurette and trailers. Night Watch (also $39.98) will include commentary with Bekmambetov, a subtitled commentary by novelist Sergei Lukyanenko, 7 deleted scenes (with optional commentary by Bekmambetov), an extended ending, 3 featurettes (The Making of Night Watch, Characters, Story and Subtitles and The Night Watch Trilogy), trailers and 3 still galleries (photos, comic book and poster art). A 2-pack of both films will also be available on Blu-ray on 9/9 (SRP TBA)
Great movies, if a bit obscure.

I liked (and own) Nightwatch. Was a little over the top at times, like it was trying too hard, but it's a fun movie. Never saw Daywatch as it's a little hard to find.

Anyway, I remember seeing something about this a couple months ago and then it fell off the radar- did it get pushed back?

It'll be interesting to see if they're able to get strong PQ out of it since it was done on a budget as compared to big effects-driven hollywood movies.

Outstanding. These were great, if not a bit confusing. Anyone know if there are there still plans to finish the trilogy with an English language filmed conclusion?

Supposedly Bekmambetov is moving to it after Wanted is released and out of the way.

I remember seeing a trailer for one of these on a movie not to long ago, and had never heard of this series. After reasearching it a bit I too am in the boat to check these out when they hit Blu-Ray.

Very nice, I was wondering if we would get dates for a US release after the announcement for the Japanese release......I have the UK DVD of Night and US of Day, but will definately get these if they are a decent upgrade...I do hope though that with Night Watch they keep the "special" subtitles (Russian version)...

I bought both night & daywatch last month (released in France),
both are excellent movies, FOX did a nice transfer, PQ is clean
about AQ, it is said english DTS HDMA for both discs but when I inserted the disc in my ps3, there were no DTS audio tracks, I could only select a dolby true hd

am I the only one?? bad copy? print error?

I PRAY the US release has the funky subtitles, and not the plain stuff.

Default Saw Day Watch at Best Buy. Are the subtitles the original or just standard text?

Hey guys. Saw Day Watch at Best Buy and I'm thinking about getting it.

Anyone know if the subs are the original, funky ones or just plain text? If they're the original, I'll definitely get it, but if not, it'll be a pass.

I would also like to know this. I recently watched my DVD copies of these two movies and was dismayed to find that they didn't sport the cool subtitles, just regular ones. Why didn't they include them? Need to know if the blus will be done correctly.

If I am not mistaken the Blu-ray imports of this movie only include standard white subtitles.

Correct, I have the Japanese Imports. The Domestic release was supposed to include the animated subtitles but I have yet to read a review of these releases.
