Fourth consecutive 10-hour day. I’m glad I have a job, but this virus is making working retail even more hellish than usual.

Indeed dude our store is almost empty at the moment here in Portugal i suppose this is good news and the general public is aware of the issues concerning the virus . Important thing is not to panic but at the same time follow the instructions etc...

Can't get toilet paper? Rabelais identified an alternative in the 16th Century

“But, to conclude, I say and maintain, that of all torcheculs, arsewisps, bumfodders, tail-napkins, bunghole cleansers, and wipe-breeches, there is none in the world comparable to the neck of a goose, that is well downed, if you hold her head betwixt your legs. And believe me therein upon mine honour, for you will thereby feel in your nockhole a most wonderful pleasure, both in regard of the softness of the said down and of the temporate heat of the goose, which is easily communicated to the bum-gut and the rest the inwards, in so far as to come even to the regions of the heart and brains.”

Our governor here in PA is shutting down liquor stores in Philly. I'm not sure if that will become state-wide or not but get your stuff while you can.

I went to Tom Thumb yesterday and the meat aisle was wiped out. I was happy when I found a frozen, stuffed chicken. I go to the self check out and it rang up $20! No wonder no one touched it. I still kept it and designated it for a special occasion. AKA there’s no more food left and this is the final meal before eating dog food.

I sure hope the stores don't allow all of the hoarders to return any unused supply they bought up. Maybe it will teach these idiots a lesson.

Target

I used to work at Target.
This is usually the time they cut the hours (even full timers).
Pretty sure they can work all the hours they want to now and make a boatload of OT.
Of course, when this settles there will be no hours to give in the summertime, and possibly the 4th Quarter (Halloween, Turkey Day, and Xmas).

Went to Walmart yesterday evening and it was insane. Still tons of people shopping even though there were a lot of empty shelves. Huge egg section was completely empty. Bread aisle almost empty. Toilet paper empty of course. Huge sections of the frozen food coolers were empty. yikes.

In this case, he could effectively lead to the death of people who are unable to get sanitizer, or masks or whatever else that was needed that could have prevented them from getting infected, or infecting others that are vulnerable. By clearing out his area, and then selling them for insane prices online, he completely hurts the areas he's raided, and makes transmission much more likely. Masks are in short supply, especially N95 ones, which I'm sure he hoarded too. So if he's taking them away from health care workers that need them, then that clearly puts them, and the people they're caring for at risk too.

That's true.

My point, though, is that the most fraudulent people whom I've encountered are people who do not realize that they are being fraudulent. They have a textbook sociopathy that keeps them from realizing the effect that their actions have on others.

Frankly, aren't we at the point where everyone just has to 'get' the virus and let the chips fall where they may? I mean, we're buying time at this point for a vaccine - but that's about it, no?

Just got back from CVS to get my BP medication prescription filled, and they ran out.
Guess I will be going on for a while without it.

I'm more worried about my parents meds running out
My mom takes pills for Epilepsy and Diabetes.
My dad takes pills for High BP.

Yeah, most people will probably get it eventually anyway. The trick is to spread out the cases as much as possible so that the curve can flatten out and the hospitals not too overrun with patients. Thus the social distancing.
