All I'm saying is that we do hear from them.

That is if the media, Twitter, Youtube and Facebook do not ban them. Seems we are only allowed to hear the opinions of the CDC (beginning: do not touch surfaces and disinfect everything; now: do not worry about catching it from surfaces) and WHO (beginning: no transmission of human to human contact; now: it is contagious from human to human contact). Yeah and then people here get mad at me when I post “incorrect” facts about this virus and then tell me, “get your facts straight and do your research.” We’ll how can I do that when health experts keep changing what they are saying every damn day??

The CDC never said this.

A particular guideline reading, "The virus does not spread easily via contaminated surfaces," made the rounds on the internet a couple days ago. This is actually not new information, and it was dramatically misinterpreted by many as, "It is impossible to spread the virus from contaminated surfaces."

The CDC hasn't changed their guidelines regarding hand washing, avoiding touching of the face and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.

Again, it's a discussion thread. Nobody here is agreeing 100% with anyone. Everyone has a slightly different take on things - how they think things are affected, how they think things should play out. This is a the internet. Of course everyone is going to debate you. I don't see everyone in here agreeing with every comment I make. No offense, but are you new to discussion forums? I don't love social media so I really only take part in one other discussion forum regularly, and I've been avoiding it unless I really need to ask questions because they can be really nasty over there (a board game site for crying out loud). It's human nature on the internet - people online just tend to argue a lot.

I think, for the most part, people here are in agreement with each other. Then I post and all hell breaks loose with disagreements. And it’s not just disagreements, but borderline personal attacks.

They literally cannot confirm until a long term study has concluded on this matter just as in the long term we'll be able to see where there were failings and where there was successes in combating the virus. I'm well aware of the claims they could have some individuals with longer term implications but so far we can only deal with whatever we know and see. That appears to be that the majority will recover with little to no long term complications.

Irresponsibly celebrating right now is an insulting slap in the face to not only the memory of all of the military personnel that have died serving this country, but to their surviving loved ones as well. Those doing it are demonstrating that they just don't care about those that have given their lives for our freedoms & that they also don't care if these families of lost loved ones are offended by their total lack of respect for their lost loved ones & lack of concern for others. Whoever is behaving in this manner should be ashamed of themselves. The brave men & women that have fought for this country & paid the ultimate price of losing their life did not do so for morons to put the lives of others in danger, they lost their lives to help protect us.

Because in some cases the damage to the lungs is so extensive it’s evident, from the damage, recovery will take years, if ever.

You don't need a long term study to see when someone's vital organs have suffered major damage. That this happens in cases where patients have become severely ill, isn't up for debate, that is really happening and has been documented. Yes, the vast majority who catch COVID 19 will not become severely ill. The problem is that this virus is far more easily passed on than even the common cold. That means that a lot of people are and will be getting it, so the relatively the small percentage of people who will die or get severely ill will still be a huge number of people. And the main thing is to make sure the health system does not get overwhelmed with severe cases, so these people stand a chance.

You are far less likely to catch this virus outside than in an enclosed space. In the end this will have to be about reducing risk rather than eliminating it 100%. This virus will be with us for a long time and if a vaccine isn't found, it will be with us forever. We can not isolate for the rest of our lives. We will not be able to stop everybody from catching this, the point is to not overwhelm the system so many more of those who get severely ill, can be saved.

I'm just as pissed at the endless photos on social media of other people being irresponsible as I am of people being irresponsible. What good is that supposed to do ?

Even the less severe and even some mild to asymptomatic cases have shown lung function impairment and other internal organ issues. This thing wont kill everyone but it does appear to do a lot of long term damage to a large percentage of people.
